Chapter 40

Jasmine beamed as her daughter Katlin explained how Elijah finally confessed and shared his feelings about her. She had a good intuition about the young man and felt he was good for her daughter.

“I see that told you so look on your face, Mom,” Katlin said smiling at her mother’s facial expressions.

“I have nothing to say,” Jasmine teased clapping in approval.

“Noah will be fine with us,” Emma smiled walking with her nephew into the playroom with him.

When she was gone Katlin turned towards her mother.

“How is she doing?” she asked.

“Great. Some days are good. On other days she gets a little sad but she finds her way quickly. Your baby sister is strong and resilient. I am grateful for her strength and tenacity to push past the circumstances. Emma is a fighter and I have the confidence that her future will be powerful,” Jasmine said.

“Mom, you are amazing,” Jasmine said getting teary-eyed.

“What did I do?” Jasmine said.
