Connecting

After the church service, Imani wondered why Noah did not simply leave. He waited near his car ensuring he would see her. The last thing she wanted was for everyone to think that something was going on. She had already seen her father's surprised looks when they connected earlier.

“Noah Coleman, can’t you take a hint?” Imani said trying her hardest to get him to leave.

“Hello again Imani. When can I see you?” he said not allowing her to get out of this.

“Did you come to church for your relationship with God or me?” she asked.

“Both,” Noah admitted.

“I can’t promise I will see you beyond this,” Imani admitted.

“You have to give me something to work with if you want me to leave,” Noah said leaning next to the car enjoying her annoyance with him.

“Fine. Here’s my number. We will talk later,” Imani whispered as the crowd grew bigger.
