*BAM!*
The shot was taken.
There was a brief pause from the green blurry figure for less than a second, before he disappeared, only to appear before the purple barrier.
Before the gap could close, a bullet shot through it, into the gun barrel, and right through Veder’s head. The bullet was big enough to completely blast off the left side of his face.
“If someone doesn't die, no one will learn!” Firstos said angrily, eyeing the gap which rapidly closed.
Bullets were fast, everyone knew that. If not for Firstos having reacted to the gunshot in time, with the distraction from the others, he would have been seriously injured.
Just now, he managed to catch the bullet before it pierced his chest, redirected its momentum, and guided back to its sender.
This was a near-death scenario, not because he was weak but because he was careless. Playing with these humans like they were puppets, he had been intoxicated. Not anymore.
