The Inseperable Bond

The night was dark and the people surrounded the alter, a man and woman stood on it and the woman's father a little further behind them, the moon was shining brightly and the elderly man Said.

"Let's start the ceremony, it's time", he said as the moon now started showing a fade red colour that was slowly turning brighter and brighter and Sun Yeong just nodded his head, but the woman kept her head low, according to the traditions she was wearing a black veil.

"Are you two sure of the bond, you two are going to be bound in tonight", the man asked as per the rituals.

"Yes", Sun Yeong answered.

"Yes", the woman said in a sickly manner.

"The ceremony will contain three rituals and need to be done with great care".

First, the bride and groom will stand in front of each other. And then a man came forward with two black candles in his hand and gave them to the couple, who lit them and held them to their hearts,, then a circle was drawn around them with night soil, after that the two pricked their fingers and let their blood drop in the chalice until it was half full and a silver cord was wrapped around their bodies for nine times, and the bride and groom, started chanting the incitations loudly making the earth, the sky, heaven and hell the witnesses of this bond.

"저(们)는 밤의 저주를 받으며 영원히 함께 하기를 맹세합니다. 이 맹세를 어기면 영원한 혼돈 속에서 함께 사라질 것입니다".

( "We (I/We) swear to be together forever, cursed by the night. Break this vow, and we will perish together in eternal chaos.")

"Now exchange the rings", the elderly man announced and the two obisdian rings were given to them and they poured a drop of blood on the rings from the chalice before they exchanged them and another Vow was made.

"피 섞이고 운명 함께 엮이소서. 이 맹세 깨뜨리면 영원한 고통 속에 지옥불에 타리라"

("Blood mingled, destinies intertwined. Break this vow and burn in the fires of hell with eternal suffering.")

"Now is the time for last ritual", the man said as he looked at the blood red moon.

The bride and groom looked at each other and bowed their heads and then poured a drop of blood on the black candles, making the light completely gone and then drank the blood in the chalice, a whirlwind came and their souls came out of their bodies, and went into the whirlwind, a second later, everything became stable again and the two looked at each other and the black flames from the candles erupted in the sky.

"검은 불꽃으로 영혼을 묶으소서. 우리의 사랑은 저주가 되어 영원히 함께 하소서"

( "Bind our souls with black flames. May our love become a curse, forever binding us together.")

"The bond has been formed, forever, till the last of your reincarnations and after then, to the eternity to seal the pact the bride and groom may kiss now", the old man announced and the people below the altar looked at the blood red moon, turning black.

Sun Yeong looked at the skinny girl that he was not really in love with and took a step forward but before he could do anything, a gust of wind blew and the person before him changed and kissed him, Sun Yeong could not understand what was happening he immediately pushed the man back and looked at him in shock.

"Who are you?", Sun Yeong asked, wide eyed and tried to wipe his mouth but the saliva had already been mixed and the pact was completely sealed.

"Who are you?", The elderly man asked as much shocked as Sun Yeong, as everyone looked at the man standing in white clothes, who was smiling in relief.

"I am the son of Lord Cheokgu, the god of afterlife and underworld, my name is Su Jun", the boy introduced himself calmly and smiled at his husband.

"Sun Yeong, what's the meaning of this, how can this happen, the son of a God", the elderly man asked in a thunderous voice, making Sun Yeong come out of his shock.

"I..i Do not know why he is here, or who he is..i Do not", Sun Yeong answered as he was still stunned.

"Where is my daughter?", The woman's father asked angrily.

"Calm down, she is at home, i have just put an invisiblity talisman on her", Su Jun said as he snapped his fingers and a dust came out.

"I have removed it now, you can go see her". Su Jun answered politely.

"What is your intention?", Sun Yeong asked in a rumbling voice as he unsheethed his sword and put it on Su Jun's neck, but before he could answer anything, voice of elderly man sounded in the dark.

 "come here", he said and Sun Yeong quickly followed and sheethed his sword back into the scabbard and ran to the man.

"Master, i don't know him, i have never seen him", Sun Yeong defended himself.

"I know Sun Yeong, you will never do something so foolish but if you do something to him you will die immediately, we have to know first what his intentions are, you need to keep him here and keep an eye on him", the elderly man instructed.

"But Master I can't live with him, he is a man", Sun Yeong said as he looked at his master.

"Sun Yeong, you cannot do anything about this, the rituals don't distinguish between men and women, if you kill him, you will die, if you abandon him, your heart and body will corrode due to the silver cord, you are bound with him now, but I promise you,i will find a way to nullify this marriage as soon as possible", the elderly man said with a sigh.

"What about my daughter, who was to marry Sun Yeong today, what will become of her", the bride's father asked helplessly.

"Sect leader, i have promised you i will marry your daughter and once this pact is broken I will keep my promise, just wait a few days until master finds a way out of this trouble", Sun Yeong reassured in a strong voice and his master just nodded his head in agreement.

They talked for a bit more time and Sun Yeong was asked to go back, as he was about to leave, his eyes fell on the curse that was standing on one side of the alter, looking up at the sky, while humming leisurely.

Sun Yeong averted his gaze from the disdainful figure and walked away but as soon as Su Jun saw him leaving,he bowed to everyone.

"Farewell", he said as he bowed to everyone present and ran after his husband. 

"Open the door", Su Jun requested in a gentle voice as he stood outside the yard, due to his husband locking the door before letting him in.

"I am still outside, please open the door", Su Jun said again, softly, like a little kitten.

"Why are you here?, Go back to your home", Sun Yeong scoffed as he opened the door a bit and stood guarding his home.

"Husband, we are married, now your home is my home", Su Jun answered gently, with a smile on his face.

"What do you want, i don't know you, why did you do this to me", Sun Yeong asked frustrated with the man's gentle demeanour.

"I want you and you only, i love you, i love you so much, i can do anything for you, you can not even think how much I love you, today when I heard you were going to get married my heart broke into thousands of pieces, I love you so much that I even went to this extent to make you mine", Su Jun answered as he slowly put his hand on Sun Yeong's cheek.

"What kind of love, we have never even seen each other, how can you love me", Sun Yeong asked as he jerked the hand off his face.

"It's not good to lie husband, we have seen each other, one and a half year before ,we saw each other at the stream and that's where I fell in love with you, how can you not remember me?", Su Jun answered patiently, smiling like before.

"I don't even remember and on the basis of seeing each other once, you came here after one and a half year and decided to marry me", Sun Yeong asked through gritted teeth.

"You have seen me that one time, but I have seen you everyday from then on, in these years there was not a single day when I didn't come down to see you, i even almost got caught many a times but I love you so much that I still came to see you after that", Su Jun explained and then fell on his knees.

"I know I have wronged you and decieved you into marrying me, but my love made me do all this, i am sorry, but this was the only way to make you look at me and make you mine". Su Jun replied.

"You like me very much right ,okay, i will show you a great time", Sun Yeong said hatefully and dragged Su Jun into the yard before Closing the gate.
