A fairy princess

"Can you please tell me more about that wolf story?" Daphne said to Esther who just came out of her room. Daphne had been up early, wondering what to do. In the world she came from, the only way women could control men was through the men's desires for them. Kian looks like a difficult man, and he isn't human, was there a different way to treat a man like him, or was every man the same?

"Please don't tell me you are now obsessed over the wolf story I told you." Esther gave out a little yawn as pour herself a glass of water. "Don't you think it's too early for a bedtime story?" She took a seat close to the kitchen counter and faced Daphne with sleepy eyes. "We don't have time to sit around, we need to get ready for work." Another yawning came out of Esther's mouth. She cover her mouth with her hand.

"Today is our off day," Daphne said. She was happy that she didn't have to go to work because she felt like she didn't know what she was dealing with, she still knew nothing about Kian.

"Really?" Esther asked with excitement on her face, she checked her phone to look at the day and the date. Daphne was right. Esther wanted to go back to sleep, she didn't understand what she was thinking when she allowed herself to wake up too early.

"About the wolves in this town, I want to know everything about them. I don't care if the stories are real or not."

Esther gave Daphne a long look. She was trying to figure her out but she couldn't understand Daphne. Other than not knowing where Daphne often went to after working hours. She didn't understand her sudden interest in a story that wasn't real. Still, it was too early for Esther to try and pressure her brain to understand Daphne she gave in to Daphne's demand and told her everything she had heard about the wolf in rays city, although she had never come across any wolf.

"Are you feeling scared after hearing all that?" Esther asked, she was worried that she had spoken too much. She shouldn't have told Daphne everything. A little bit was okay. But she said too much without thinking.

Daphne remains still in her seat. Her beautiful hair tied away from her face. "What if..." Her words sounded crazy to her before it came out of her mouth. "What if supernatural creatures were real and a man could change into a wolf."

Esther blinked the sleep out of her eyes, she felt like laughing. "I understand you, Daphne."

For a second, Daphne had her hopes up until Esther said, "The truth is I'm not human. I'm a fairy princess from a secret kingdom." Esther giggles to herself.

Daphne thought that if she was to treat Kian like a normal guy, then the best way to trap him and make use of his strange abilities was by dating him. Men most times lose their heads over the woman they love.

"That was so funny, I can't believe you are not laughing," Esther said. She stops giggling but her smile remains on her face.

"I'm thinking of trapping someone. What's the best way to trap a man?"

Esther hum to herself a little. Her eyes were starting to feel sleepy again. But from Daphne's question, it seems as though Daphne found someone. It made Esther wonder if this was what Daphne had been hiding from her. "Are you in love already?" Esther was surprised by how fast things moved. It hadn't been that long since Daphne moved to rays city and started living with her.

Daphne almost gave out a laugh but she held herself. "I guess he's a man, but he's more of a beast than a man. Like a big dog. I'm only interested in him, not in love. He's only a pet, I know that people love their pets but don't you think it's weird to love your pet romantically?"

"Ohh. I get it now. You are thinking of adopting a stray dog aren't you?" Esther ask. "If you want to trap it that means it doesn't like you. Trust me when I tell you this. It's best to leave animals alone when they want to be alone, even if they are too cute to resist. If you don't leave them alone, they might scratch you with their claws." Esther's hand went to her cheek as she remembered how she almost got scratched on the face by her aunty cat. Fluffy animals were cute but dangerous. Daphne's beautiful face didn't look like the kind a cat's claws could ruin even if there was a scratch. Esther thought that maybe a dog could be different, but they didn't have dog food and who would take care of the little creature when Daphne wasn't around? "I don't think it's a good idea for you to adopt a stray dog." Esther didn't want to have another awful experience with another cute fluffy beast.

"Don't worry. I don't plan on bringing him here to live with us." Kian already had a home.

"I don't hate animals I just don't like it when they bite me or hurt me." Esther finished her glass of water and stood up, she was going back to sleep but stopped when she saw the dark look on Daphne's face. "Are you okay?"

"I have been bitten by an animal before," Daphne spoke of Noah. "I couldn't kill him even though he was worse than an animal."

Esther studies the looks on Daphne's face. From her expression, she could tell that it was a terrible memory. She thought it was a bit harsh of Daphne to think of killing the poor animal.

Daphne let out a fake bright smile. She was saying too much, revealing too much about herself. She needed to be careful of the words she used around Esther. She didn't want Esther to know of her past. "All that was in the past. I was only exaggerating when I said that."

Esther gave a nod. She was too tired to comprehend what Daphne was saying. She went back to bed.

'I'm going to use a beast to get rid of another beast.' Daphne thought.
