Danielle was waiting for them at the house, her smile wide as she greeted them. "I'm so glad you're here!" she said, hugging Alexia. "The kids are going to have so much fun at the wedding."
Alexia forced a smile, doing her best to play the part of the happy wife. But inside, she was a wreck. She kept thinking about Elijah, and what he must be doing right now. Was he looking for her? Was he following her? She had no way of knowing, and that scared her more than anything.
"Why don't you guys come in"
As Danielle continued speaking, Alexia's mind wandered. She tried to focus on what Danielle was saying, but her thoughts kept drifting to Elijah. Why was he so fixated on her? Had he always been this obsessive, or was it just because she had left him? She wondered if she had made a mistake in leaving him. But then she remembered why she had left, and she knew she had made the right choice. She couldn't stay with someone who would control her every move,he only did that to protect her
Elijah might be a successful businessman, but he was also possessive and manipulative. Alexia had seen it firsthand, and she wasn't going to go back
As Alexia and Danielle prepared for the wedding, David and the kids played in the backyard. Alexia couldn't help but smile as she watched them, a warmth spreading through her chest. Despite everything, she loved her kids more than anything. They were the reason she was here, the reason she had to stay strong.
No matter what happened, she had to protect them. She had to make sure they were safe, no matter the cost. Even if that meant facing her worst fears. Even if that meant confronting Elijah head-on.
She turned back to Danielle, her resolve strengthening. "So, tell me about this man of yours
Danielle smiled and said you will see him soon
