Alexia felt a little dizzy as she walked into the reception hall, the music blaring and the lights flashing. She made her way to the bar, ordering a glass of water. But as she brought the glass to her lips, she felt a sudden wave of nausea. She set the glass down, her head spinning. She tried to focus on her surroundings, but everything was starting to blur.
She felt someone grab her arm, and she tried to pull away, but she was too weak. She felt herself being led away from the crowd, her head pounding. She struggled to stay conscious, but it was no use.
Alexia woke up in a dark, unfamiliar room, a throbbing pain in her head. She tried to sit up, but her body felt heavy and sluggish. She looked around, but she couldn't make out anything in the darkness. She tried to call out, but her voice was hoarse and weak. She had no idea where she was, or what had happened to her.
Then, she heard footsteps approaching. She tried to brace herself, to prepare for the worst. But when the light came on, she was surprised to see Elijah standing in the doorway.
"Elijah?" she croaked, her voice barely
