Tornadoes Fury

Lorel Se Lune? That family name sounds familiar, maybe a famous relative? He himself doesn't look like much but his name seems to give him his confidence, so I assume his family member is a somewhat powerful figure.

"Let the battle begin" a knight declares

Loren and Cecilia both follow the outlined circle waiting for the other to make the first move, after a minute or so Lorels pride forces him to try close the distance between them both.

He lunges towards her thrusting his blade as if it's a spear, He may be a little fat, but Cecilia is faster, she sweeps to the side, her face unwavering as she swings her blade up towards his gut; just when it's about to pierce him, he deflects the attack with a shield he created with earth magic making Cecilias arm bounce back.

The deflected attack 100% threw her off balance, a strong attack like that being deflected would throw anyone off guard, even the high rankers would struggle to recover quickly from it.

Now I understand why he was so confident before the battle; Her wind magic is useless when matched up with the thickness of earth magic. I can only think of two wind attacks that could possible break through an earth wall - Her wind thrust if strong enough and a sort of drilling wind attack.

Neither I doubt she has mastered yet, I'm sure she has realised by now that she's outmatched.

Lorel fires a follow up attack creating mini dark like earth rocks that beam towards her; she sweeps, twirls, spinning dodging as much of them as she can until she is able to create a mini tornado that robs the earth darts away from lorels control.

She deactivates the wrath or the tornado causing the earth darts to break free of the wind and launches at Lorel; Not expecting the deflection he tries to summon a wall out of panic, It's too thin and it shattered by the army of darts.

He may have the advantage in magic, but he is incredibly sloppy, his overconfidence causes him to underestimate his opponents wits, his earth magic and his skill are completely shameful compared to the one they call "Ruler of the Earth" - But I guess that's an unfair comparison.

Lorel somehow manages to gain his footing but realises Cecilia has already began making her next move as she darts towards him, blade faced to the floor in a dragging position; Wind starts to twirl around her blade making the dirt of the earth below her diverge away from her, and when she goes to swing the blade up, there is a burst of wind almost like an extension of the blade itself.

Lorel tries to react, again creating a thin earth shield but Cecilia had already predicted that and makes the wind on her blade twirl even faster - Putting all of her weight into the last attack, she makes a silent clean slash smashing through the earth shield.

The field is silent, the knights in shock seeing their commanders arm as it falls to the ground.

I don't even think Lorel himself realizes what has just happened, his body probably flowing with adrenaline; It isn't until he looks to his men and follows their eyes down the the ground below him where his arm lays severed.

His face slowly turns into shock, eyes widened as he lets out a scream, gripping at where his arm used to be attached to.

He falls to a knee, face pale with rivers of sweat dripping from his face, he picks up his arm, huffing letting out quick, loud breaths as if still in denial of what just happened.

He tries putting his arm back into place as if it can just re-attach itself, he is in disbelief, I can tell he hasn't experienced many defeats - or at least one this bad.

Cecilia walks towards him, pointing her blade to his neck.

"How does my blade feel against your throat?" Cecilia says looking down onto the defeated knight.

Loren says nothing, does nothing besides hanging his head down in shame resting his chin upon her blade, the adrenaline still numbing the pain of his severed arm; His soldiers still in shock with widened eyes and loose jaws.

Cecilia sheathes her blade and turns away from the knight using her hand to flick her hair with confidence.

That is when I see her ears, I wasn't sure when I saw them the first time when she attacked the lanky knight, but I doubt I would be imagining things twice.

Her ears, pointed, created by an inner fold of the ear.

Is she a sub species of elf? no it couldn't be, I've done research on all of their species. The great wood elves don't have very long ears either but they're still longer than Cecilias. Could it be a genetic mutation? I thought elven DNA were pure. Could she be a half elf? But that's forbidden between humans and elves, is that why she is here in the Meldova continent, because she was cast out?

I'm thinking too much into it, It's none of my business and not one of my priorities.

The knights scurry away carrying their commander.

"Cecilia" Bandro says with an angry tone

"Yes I know uncle" she replies with an annoyed tone.

She knows she is probably going to be nagged at by Bandro for this incident.

"I told you not to cause a scene Cecilia, y'know how dangerous it is for us here" he says with a low tone as if he didn't want me to hear him.

Cecilia walks past him, her head down; She was proud of herself for a moment, probably expected to be congratulated by her uncle.

She slams the doors of the cart shut.

Bandro shares a regretful look towards me before hoping onto the piece of wood that's attached to the from of the cart - used by coachmen. Guessing he wants to give Cecilia time to herself after their scuffle.

I enter the cart where Cecilia sits in a huff with her head resting on her arm that rests on the crate beside her.

"You're strong, I'll admit, you surprised me" I say to her in a plain tone

"I don't need you to try comfort me" she says with a cold voice

"I wasn't trying to comfort you, just wanted to tell you what I was thinking; I'm sure your uncle was proud; I don't know what your situation is but I'm sure he was just trying to protect you."

"You don't think I already know that? I'm tired of hidin-" she stops herself as if almost revealing too much.

"He's doing the best he can to protect you from whatever is keeping you in hiding, Just try to understand that what he tells you to do is probably for the best" I say while standing while walking towards the doors.

I see her eyes narrow, what I said seemed to affect her

"The name is Nixon, right?"

"Yeah, I didn't expect you to have been listening."

"I'm not deaf."

"I didn't mean it in that way"  say letting out a snort

"My Uncle is old, not dumb y'know" she replies with a soft voice

"What do you mean?"

"You really think he'd believe a merchants boy would have a familial beast bond?" She says turning her eyes towards me

"What's wrong with that? Is it a rarity or something?" I say jokingly

"Actually, yes, yes it is; Mainly only used by great-wood elves since they're the only ones who live among the wild creatures - taking their time learning how to bond with them to create contracts, though, they're mostly short ones, you have to truly master it in order to use its full power" She looks at me with suspicious eyes

"Well, would you really think I'd be dumb enough to think that a traveling merchants nephew would know sword skills and have an affinity for wind magic? wind magic is mainly used by great-wood elves - but I'm sure you already knew that." I say with a joking smirk

Her eyes hover on mine before curling her lips into a smile.

"Nice meeting you Cilia, maybe the next time we met you will have mastered all of your techniques." I gently smile before turning away to exit the cart doors

"I never said you could call me "Cilia" - and if we ever do meet again, "Nix" - I'll be expecting you to have mastered that familial bond of yours" she says with rosy cheeks, raising one of her brows while smiling
