"Repair? Renault said it's possible?"
Scarecrow, upon hearing CF05's words, was also taken aback. She exchanged a glance with Hunter nearby, who was debugging a Dinergate. Despite some uncertainty, she trusted Renault's assurance.
After all, the cargo hold wasn't just filled with Griffin tactical dolls; Renault and G36 were there too, most of them wearing powered armor. If things got messy, they could handle it.
Setting down the drone, Scarecrow nodded to Hunter and then neatly stowed away her tools in a toolbox before picking it up and heading towards the cargo hold.
Hunter did the same. She had plenty of tools, courtesy of Renault. She often maintained the Dinergates and utilized various tools.
"Hey, hey! Wait for me! It's too boring to play chess with this little fool!"
Seeing Scarecrow and Hunter leaving, Intruder, who was playing chess with Maria, immediately abandoned the game and joined them.
"Ah! Troublemaker! You rascal! I was about to win! Come back!"
Intruder ran off, with Maria in pursuit. Being alone in the lounge wasn't fun anyway.
When CF05 led Scarecrow and the others to the cargo hold, it seemed that apart from a few dolls CF05 had instructed earlier, hardly any other dolls noticed their arrival.
With the change of their Sangvis Ferri-made bodies and their attire, which was different from before, it wasn't surprising that they didn't attract much attention from the Griffin dolls. Their Griffin identification codes must have played a role too. Moreover, the chaotic state of the cargo hold filled with dolls talking and crying also helped conceal their presence.
"Over here!" CF05 waved to Scarecrow. Two dolls had damaged power cores and were on the verge of shutdown.
Of course, there were many dolls in similar conditions. Scarecrow assessed the situation and immediately split from Hunter. They each started repairing the dolls in need from different directions.
Essentially, they just had to connect power lines to the dolls' neural cores to prevent memory loss due to power failure. They only had tools and a few batteries, so keeping the dolls' neural cores running was the best they could do.
If they repaired too many, would Renault pay them less? This was one of the few opportunities to ask for more money from Griffin. It wouldn't be right to miss it.
Rescuing people from Sangvis Ferri's armored units and saving many tactical dolls, along with the AR team's valuable asset, demanded extra compensation. If they didn't ask for more money, they'd be shortchanging Renault's ship.
And this time... the situation didn't seem too optimistic. The ship had already arrived. If they only rescued the AR team from Sangvis Ferri, there would be no reason for Renault to stay in the hangar.
Sangvis Ferri had enough dolls to handle rescues like this.
"Renault, what are you looking at? Aren't we heading back yet?"
As Intruder slipped into the crowd, Maria stomped her foot lightly, but ultimately didn't follow.
The Griffin dolls were already in a pitiful state. If she rushed in and pulled out Intruder, the injured dolls might end up dead because of their commotion.
Renault had been watching the holographic images projected by the communicator with a few other dolls. Maria naturally approached, curious about the holograms.
"Not yet, it'll take a while. The AR team hasn't returned yet."
"Oh, okay, then I'll go back first."
After glancing around, Maria felt that the cargo hold wasn't a suitable place to linger. After uttering these words, she jogged back to the cabin.
Why did she feel this way?
Of course, many dolls were giving her strange looks...
Shortly after the conclusion of the battle in S09 Area Griffin Base, some of them continued searching for Sangvis Ferri's commanding dolls.
What they found was a person who looked exactly like Maria: Destroyer.
It had been so long, and intelligence about Destroyer had already spread through Griffin's communication channels.
So when Maria appeared, they immediately noticed the similarity.
Why didn't they notice Hunter and Scarecrow, whose information was also widely circulated?
Could they be the same?
One was squatting beside the dolls, helping with repairs, while the other was hopping around on the high platform in the hangar.
Who would attract more attention was obvious.
However, even after Maria left through the door, the Griffin dolls didn't say anything. They just watched her leave with strange expressions before finally coming back to their senses.
"That doll... she has a Griffin identification code, right? I'm not dreaming, am I?"
"Of course, it's a genuine Griffin identification code. I even double-checked it. The code is fine, it's definitely Griffin's."
"Well, this is absurd. Now, if someone tells me we're going to fight the military, I'd believe it."
"What are you thinking! Didn't the shelling just now come from the military targeting Sangvis Ferri's armored units?"
"Huh? Isn't that them shelling Sangvis Ferri's armored units? What does it have to do with us?"
"What does it have to do? How can it not? The shells are about to fall on us!"
If it weren't for Renault's ship, they would've been blasted into scrap metal like those Sangvis Ferri units.
"Alright, now's not the time to argue about this. I just feel like something's off about this ship... Look at that guy over there helping with emergency procedures for the dolls... Why do I feel like that doll... is Scarecrow?"
"It's not a feeling! It's obvious! She just changed her clothes, and you can't recognize her?"
Clang!
As the dolls argued, the door to the hangar suddenly burst open. Renault, who had been standing by the door, raised his hand to stop the others from following him and then strode out!
He had spotted M4A1 and SOP2, the unlucky pair, who had ended up... right in the military's encirclement...
Why was it such a coincidence?
