Chapter 493: You Call This a Small Task?

"Hey, Executioner, it seems quiet on your end. Has the commander found M4A1?"

P90 quickly leaned over the hangar railing, peering at the holographic image of Executioner surrounded by Griffin dolls.

"Huh? Not yet. Just saw M4A1 and the others running into the forest. The commander went after them, so we should get a signal soon." Executioner scratched his head, glancing outside the porthole at the sky as he spoke.

If Renault had found M4A1's exact location, he would likely signal with a smoke grenade or something similar. Although they could send location information directly to phones, a signal grenade was simpler and clearer.

Even though this might attract nearby military and Sangvis Ferri units, it didn't matter. They only needed to take M4A1 and the other doll.

Find them, then Simonov would fly the aircraft over, and they wouldn't even need to land. Just drop two ropes to bring Renault and the two dolls back, taking less than five minutes.

Meanwhile, in the cargo hold, when P90 and Executioner mentioned M4A1's whereabouts, the attention of the Griffin dolls, previously hostile towards Scarecrow and Hunter, shifted to Executioner's holographic image, hoping to hear some good news.

The AR team had worked hard to distract most of the Sangvis Ferri and armored units to ensure their escape. Naturally, they hoped Renault and the others would bring back all the AR team members intact.

"Hey, Simonov, see any signals?" Feeling the collective gaze on her, Executioner felt uncomfortable, regretting calling to chat with Scarecrow at a time like this.

"What's the rush? The commander just went up two minutes ago! How could there... Oh! There's the signal!"

Simonov exclaimed as a firework-like smoke grenade exploded in the sky ahead.

"Oh! Here we go! Something's happening! Hang up for now! They should be back soon!" With that, Executioner hung up.

Seeing Executioner's holographic image disappear, Scarecrow and Hunter breathed a sigh of relief. At least there was some good news, and it diverted the attention of the dolls, but repairs still had to continue.

Seeing the silent dedication of Scarecrow and Hunter as they repaired the heavily damaged dolls, the other Griffin dolls felt awkward, scratching their heads and reluctantly putting down their weapons.

P90, standing on the hangar platform, relaxed seeing the situation and shrugged at MDR, who happened to glance over.

She must admit, having so many dolls gathered on their own ship was quite a scene, especially seeing so many dolls heavily injured. Even P90 felt the urge to rush down and battle the Sangvis Ferri armored units.

But it would be pointless. Aside from the lack of other Griffin dolls below, they didn't need to engage in such actions themselves, as they all had access to Sangvis Ferri permissions.

Though they couldn't control the Sangvis Ferri on a large scale like the mainframe, grabbing control of a dozen or so Sangvis Ferri wouldn't be a problem.

So, rushing down for a fight was clearly not a good choice. After all... the number of Sangvis Ferri below, just from what they could see, was already in the tens of thousands, far outnumbering what they could control.

It was evident that Sangvis Ferri's Mainframe had gone all out this time, pulling out most of its forces to capture M4A1... She really was a popular one.

Seeing the Griffin dolls smiling at the news of the AR team, P90 couldn't tell if they were happy that the AR team would return unharmed or if they were just glad to be returning to Griffin base themselves. But at least the atmosphere in the cargo hold was different from before.

"By the way, do you think the commander has already encountered the military's androids? The signal shows they've crossed Griffin's contracted zone and are now officially engaging with the Sangvis Ferri."

"Then they should be fine. With the military and Sangvis Ferri fighting, the commander can take advantage and sneak the AR team out. See, the script's already written."

MP5 and UMP9 chatted, while HK416 looked at UMP9, who had unexpectedly appeared. "9, aren't you supposed to be on the bridge with 40 and 45? Why are you here?"

"Uh, the bridge is too boring, and lately, whenever I see 45 and 40 together, I feel a strange toothache sensation, even though I haven't eaten too many sweets."

UMP9 spoke, touching her cheek in bewilderment.

"Hehe! The child doesn't understand!"

Hearing UMP9's words, Nagant Revolver and M1911 glanced at each other, then simultaneously spoke to UMP9.

"What do you mean child? You two are the ones acting like children!" UMP9 retorted, then walked up to Nagant Revolver and M1911, puffing out her chest to compare their heights.

Choosing not to switch to taller bodies, Nagant Revolver and M1911 were visibly shorter than UMP9.

"Hmph, we're not children! Unlike some brats who want to show off their height!"

"Haha!?"

...

"Boss, there's some news here you should take a look at..." Geralt, sitting on the sofa browsing through the material collection report handed to him by his assistant, was interrupted by his assistant's voice.

The assistant also sent a document to his tablet.

"Hmm? What's this news? The military and Sangvis Ferri's rogue units are engaged in a fierce conflict? This location... why does it sound familiar?"

"It's Mr. Renault! They said they were going to this place before!"

"What!? Here!? So...! That guy's idea of completing a small task was to charge into the conflict zone between the military and Sangvis Ferri!?"

What kind of small task is this!?

How many security contractors in the world have the audacity to jump into a head-on clash between the military and Sangvis Ferri and stir things up?
