Chapter 502: I Want to Stay!

Chapter 502: I Want to Stay!

Ding-ling-ling!

A continuous ringing sound echoed through the messy room. A figure wrapped in a blanket, with a bionic ear on her head, sat up groggily, rummaged through the clutter a couple of times, and then lay back down.

Unfortunately, the ringing showed no signs of stopping. It continued to repeat from the speaker with poor sound quality.

"Who is it? Can't you just let me sleep?" Persicaria, fully awake now, rubbed her already messy hair in frustration, and her bionic ears stood up in anger.

Using the bionic ear on her head, Persica quickly located the mobile phone she had thrown into the pile of miscellaneous items after using it earlier.

Though her workshop was messy, she wasn't so forgetful as to lose track of her things.

"Who is this? Where did I put my coffee cup? Ha!" Looking at the unknown caller on her phone, Persica hung up the call and began searching for her coffee cup on the floor.

"Ah, here it is." Persica soon spotted her usual coffee cup, placed next to the mattress she had spread on the ground.

Just as she bent down to grab it, the phone she had just put into her pocket rang again. However, this time, Persica ignored the ringing. She took the cup, walked over to the coffee machine, and poured herself a cup of coffee. Then she opened a new box of sugar cubes and dumped most of them into the cup until it was nearly overflowing.

Without waiting for the sugar cubes to dissolve, Persica took a sip of the coffee. With a satisfied smile on her face, she pulled out the phone, still ringing, and raised her hand to answer the call.

The holographic image of M4A1 appeared before Persica's eyes.

"M! M4A1!? Ugh! Hot, hot, hot!" Persica, who had been drinking the coffee—or rather, sugar water—suddenly gasped when she saw M4A1. Unfortunately, the coffee went straight into her mouth, choking her throat and burning her tongue.

However, the heat made Persica wake up.

No wonder she had felt like she had forgotten something!

This was the phone she had asked someone to get so she could contact Renault.

No one else should have this number except Renault!

If someone was calling her, it must be Renault or AR15, but Persica hadn't expected to see M4A1 in the holographic image on her phone. Shouldn't the AR team be on a mission with Griffin right now?

"Um, Persica, I have something important to discuss..." Seeing Persica still looking disheveled, M4A1 spoke hesitantly.

"Important?"

"Actually, it's like this... SOP2... She wants to stay with Commander Renault, along with AR15, so they can take care of each other." M4A1 said this while glancing at AR15, worried that she might refute her.

However, AR15 didn't seem to mind. When she saw M4A1 looking at her, she immediately turned her head away, slightly embarrassed.

"Huh? What's going on?" Hearing M4A1, Persica was surprised. SOP2 actually had her own thoughts and plans? Had she grown up?

M4A1 explained the situation to Persica while Simonov successfully piloted the aircraft back to the spacecraft's hangar.

"Hey, welcome home, commander," UMP45's voice came through the broadcasting system, and M1 Garand, who had been waiting in the hangar, immediately closed the hatch.

With that, all the necessary targets for this mission were brought back, and the rest was simple—just delivering the Griffin dolls back to Griffin's base.

"Alright, set the route. The target is the Griffin base we visited last time."

"Understood!" UMP45 immediately responded. The spacecraft was not far from the Griffin base they had visited previously, and even at ordinary cruising speed, it would take less than half an hour to reach the base.

"Home, home!" Executioner cheered, jumping off the aircraft first. She had planned to head straight to the brewery with AK47 and the others to grab some wine, but then she remembered her two immobile arms.

She couldn't go just yet—she would have to wait here for Renault to head to the workshop together.

The repair pods produced by IOP couldn't fix bodies made by Renault himself.

However, Executioner's pause caught the attention of MDR, who appeared in front of her almost instantly!

Without hesitation, MDR raised her phone and snapped ten consecutive photos!

Click, click, click!

The shutter sounds continued, and Executioner rolled her eyes in exasperation. "Forget it, it doesn't matter. I don't care about the dark history!"

"Instead of taking pictures of me, why don't you snap some shots of the AR team? They were really treated badly this time," Executioner suggested, pointing towards the aircraft cabin.

At that moment, A-91 opened the hatch at the rear of the aircraft, allowing MP5 and the others outside to see M16 and the others inside the cabin.

M16, however, was holding a mobile phone, discussing something with Persica.

Of course, the fearless MDR never hesitated. She rushed forward, aimed her phone at the battered M16 and M4A1, and started shooting.

If it weren't for the phone in her hand and Persica being right in front of the holographic image, M16 would have wanted to smash MDR directly!

Couldn't she see that she was on the phone?

"Anyway, SOP2 will stay with Commander Renault for now. If you take her back directly, I'm worried Griffin might do something out of line to SOP2."

Griffin didn't have the authority to dismantle the AR team's bodies for research, but now that SOP2 was in this state, Griffin's technicians would likely view her as dead.

After all, with the doll body in this condition, there was no value in repairing it, right?

It wasn't impossible that Griffin's maintenance personnel would treat SOP2 as a scrapped doll and dispose of her.

So, even though SOP2's suggestion might sound a little unreliable at first glance, upon further consideration, this was likely the right choice.

At least there was no need to worry about Griffin taking advantage of SOP2's current state and doing something extreme with her body or neural core.
