That final soldier was Kendall.
She had been sitting quietly in the back of the truck—not in the front seat.
When she heard the word sniper, she stayed hidden. The enemy had the high ground, and rushing out would be suicide.
The rest of her squad didn't expose her. They died protecting her.
The Red Team sniper, unaware of Kendall's presence and lacking a bird's-eye view like those in the exercise room, assumed he had taken out the entire squad. After waiting a while with no further movement, he descended the hillside.
Cautiously circling the vehicle, he approached the rear and lifted the canvas.
Bang!
Kendall fired—perfect headshot. The Red Team sniper was "killed" on the spot.
Stunned, the sniper said, "A woman?!"
The "dead" comrades from the cooking squad erupted in laughter.
But Kendall wasn't laughing. She was worried.
