Succeeding that, the tomb robber had to jam his legs on either side of the coffin, slipping the noose that was around his own neck over the corpse's neck as well. This meant that the tomb robber and the corpse would be cheek-to-cheek within the same loop of rope. Then, by arching his neck forcefully backwards, he would pull the body out a dozen or so centimeters from the coffin before starting to strip the clothes off the dead.

Once the clothes were stolen, he would check for any valuable items in the coffin and take them if there were any. If not, he would recover the coffin with its lid and rebury it. Of course, there were times when the tomb robber was discovered. If discovered, the tomb robber would either flee for his life or get caught. At the very least, he would receive a severe beating, and in the worst-case scenario, he would be beaten to death right there...
