"The reason for that," Master Li said as he nodded slightly to himself while looking at me, "is because, according to my calculations, the Hanged Ghost has been around for no more than a decade. When it was alive, it already possessed that scythe, which means that even then, the scythe was a lethal threat to it—just as a scythe resting on the neck of an ordinary person would be."

"Does that mean an old scythe can be a Magic Artifact that threatens the life of the Hanged Ghost?" I seemed to understand Master Li's reasoning, so I blurted out what was on my mind.

"Precisely, everything in the world follows a set of laws, and with laws, they can be broken. This aged scythe happens to be the 'law-breaker' against the Hanged Ghost. Now you understand what needs to be done, right?"

"Yes, I understand." I nodded in agreement, though in reality, I didn't have a clear idea of what exactly I needed to do.
