667. Black and White Sesame_1

Yan Ran let out an "ouch":

"How come these are white sesame seeds? Didn't they separate?"

"It's fine."

Song Tan glanced over: "They're pretty much the same, it's all edible."

"Really?" Yan Ran was somewhat skeptical, but she had never grown sesame, and Seventh Uncle was busy in the kitchen at the moment, so after hesitating for a bit, she quickly went back to threshing in confusion.

Threshing sesame is a repetitive and strenuous task. It may look simple, but it requires a significant amount of effort. One or two times is okay, but after a hundred or so repetitions, especially in the high temperature of over thirty degrees, even before the sun reached its fiercest, one could be hot enough to gasp for breath.

It was Professor Song who came out and asked, "Why are you threshing upside down instead of tapping it lightly?"

Song Tan pointed to a pile next to her: "We only grew this little, there's no need to be so meticulous. Threshing quickly like this is much faster."
