Boss Chang enthusiastically followed Song Tan towards the pond.
As they walked, more villagers who came to help gradually gathered. But the more he looked, the more something seemed off—how come everyone was fully equipped, yet only holding fishing nets?
He was dumbfounded, and now looked at Song Tan: "It's the end of the year, aren't you cleaning the pond?"
"Not cleaning it." Song Tan said casually, "We sold a batch during the summer, and most of the fish have been caught. These late-developing fish fry, how big can they get? If they're not caught now, they can just keep growing. There's no need to clean the pond."
Cleaning the pond would require draining the water and then waiting for it to fill up again by spring, which would delay the fish fry's growth by a month or two, right?
So just cast the net and catch them like this!
Boss Chang felt a bit frustrated: "Without cleaning the pond, you can't catch quite a few of them... you could lose at least a fifth of the harvest."
