A Sudden Visit

Nicholas would visit the club in two days. Just like Ady said, she had to make sure that Nicholas' attention was only for her.

'Are you sure you want to do this? You can still get out, Mia.'

Those words kept echoing in her mind. But she had only one answer. Yes. She had to. She already signed a contract with Club Montefalco. If she wanted to leave, she had to pay two million dollars. Where would she get that money? She thought inwardly.

'You're an idiot. Why did you sign that contract, anyway? Mama didn't force you. You decided on your own because of that scene you did with Nicholas Hudson.'

"Is his face that expensive?" She murmured.

She heard a few knocks, and it was Ady.

"Do you know how to dance?"

She frowned. "What kind of dance?"

"Erotic, sensual, sexy." Ady rolled her eyes.

"No. I only know pole dancing."

"Really? That's new. I think you have to do it."

She was still confused with Ady. "Wait. I think I'm lost. Why do I have to dance? What for?"

Ady sighed in disappointment. "For Nicholas. You said you don't know how to seduce him, so I was thinking of some ways to get his attention. Dancing."

"But I haven't pole danced for two years."

"Do you want to do this or not? If you're letting this opportunity go, tell me so I won't waste my time thinking of ways to help you."

"I-I want to do it. But will Mama allow me to dance?"

Ady smiled. "Of course! It's for the bar, and I think we'll have a lot of clients because of you."

And Ady was right again, Mama agreed because in two days, not only Nicholas Hudson would come. Another wealthy businessman would be in the club and he's a new client.

She was allowed not to work for two days so she could rehearse. Mama warned her nor to make a mistake because it would reflect on the club's reputation.

"Lia, Nicholas Hudson is here to see you."

It was a surprise to her. He wasn't supposed to be there since they agreed to meet in two days. But what surprised her more was that he appeared in front of her room.

"Can I come in?" He asked.

She gulped. "Okay."

Nicholas stepped inside a tiny room. He couldn't even call it a bedroom. It was too small for him.

There was a bed that could only fit for one, a small foldable table and a closet that could store ten clothes.

"Are you comfortable here?" He asked.

She nodded. "It's small, but it has a bed and a roof, so I'm fine with that. Besides, Mama said if my performance is good, I'll get a bigger space."

She pointed to the bed, asking him to sit down. She had nowhere to sit so she casually sat beside him.

"Didn't we agree to meet in two days?.Why are you here?"

He didn't answer. His silence was deafening, making her uncomfortable. It's only been a week since they met, but somehow she felt that something was bothering him.

"Did something happen?" She asked.

She knew she shouldn't ask and meddle with his affairs. The man was a complete stranger and her only connection with him was the club.

"I just need someone to talk to and your face was the first to appear in my mind."

Her heart skipped a beat. Was that a sign? Was that a confirmation of Ady's words the other night? Was he really into her? She thought inwardly.

"Why me?"

Nicholas shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know either. I was asking myself the same thing. Maybe because if I tell you something, no one will know. It's one of the rules of the club, right?"

She nodded. On the contract, it said that they should never give any information about their clients to anyone. It was a non-disclosure agreement.

"Do you know who I am?" He asked.

Mia was confused. She looked straight into his eyes to see what he meant. But for some reason, Nicholas was too hard to read.

"I mean who I really am."

"Oh, I see. Well, I know you're the wealthiest man in the country. You were the heir to the Hudson empire, but before you became the successor of your father, you had your own empire. Hudson Industries is originally yours. Your father didn't build it."

Nicholas was impressed. Most women were only interested in how much he had on his bank account. They were never interested where the money came from.

"You're right. But did you know that I'm not supposed to inherit my father's company?"

She shook her head. "No. I only know things about you because one of my professors will always make you an example during lectures."

"Really?" He chuckled, making her heart pound.

"Yes. She will tell us about your success and achievements at a young age."

He smiled, making her gulp. Ady said to bewitch him, but it's the other way around. She was being drawn by his charm.

"My elder brother was supposed to be the successor of my father's company. But he died a year ago."

She heard about it. It was on the news that the eldest son of Howard Hudson died because of a heart attack.

"He was supposed to get married with his childhood friend. Everything was already planned and prepared, but it's unfortunate that he died." He sighed.

With that, she felt that she knew what already happened.

"And they're asking you to marry that girl?"

Her heart felt like it was being pinched when he nodded. The woman wasn't his girlfriend, but his brother's. Still, the truth remained that he would end up marrying that woman.

"Why did they want you to marry her? You don't like her."

She heard a soft chuckle from Nicholas. "I like her as a big sister. She's kind and comes from a good family. But it doesn't matter. Whether I like the woman or not, I have to marry her."
