Upon hearing that they had not denied adopting Lu Qingqing, both Song Xiufeng and Song Xiuluan were very surprised.
"You admit it?" Song Xiufeng's voice trembled.
"We never intended to keep it from Qingqing; it's just that the opportunity never arose. What's there not to admit?" Grandma Lu, always open-hearted, stood up and said to Grandma Lin, "My in-law, please explain to them. I will call the others back. Now that Qingqing's real father has come searching, everybody should meet."
Grandma Lin waved her hand, offering no objection.
After Grandma Lu had left, Grandma Lin looked at Song Xiufeng, "Qingqing was brought back by me. As for her origins, no one knows better than I do. Ask what you will; I won't hide anything from you that I know."
Seeing her straightforwardness, Song Xiufeng didn't hesitate to say, "I want to know who Qingqing's mother is, where she is now, and under what circumstances you adopted Qingqing. Did something happen that year?"
