Chapter 46

Being shaken out of her thoughts, Adelina focused back on his injuries. She applied some ointment before binding them with a bandage. Ethan watched her silently as she carefully treated his wounds.

Although they'd lived together after getting married, this was the first time he was directly looking at her.

She was no longer wearing the clothing she had worn to the banquet, but her sleeves were still narrow and short. Her small fingers were rough, very different from the pale, sculpted hands of the Consort.

Adelina frowned at the unexpected question regarding Cedric. They had gotten into an argument because of what had happened with Cedric at the banquet, so she didn't like the fact that he was being brought up again.

However, Ethan's silence had bothered her as much as his wounds were bothering her right now.

"If my family ordered it, then I would have done so."
