Morning arrived gently, a cool wash of sun draping across his face. Shen peeled open his eyes, immediate tension in his shoulders reminding him of the day's priorities. With a muffled groan, he rose and found an unremarkable but filling breakfast—bread, a small bowl of grain porridge, and weak tea. The suite was still otherwise empty—no sign of Kayode or Riley returning from their raids, or Angela and Surya from searching for Hayazaki.

He mused on whether to track them down, but each had their own path. Instead, he needed to dig deeper at the Grand Archives, or perhaps nudge Alexander about the Terminal Society's infiltration. Thelos's dire warnings about watchers lingered in his head, but he couldn't stall. If anything, time was of the essence—what if the catacomb crisis escalated soon?
