The sun was slowly dipping behind the dunes when the caravan members laid their fellow traders to the ground and marked their graves. Wiping away their sweat, they had ultimately agreed to camp there as it was too late to journey further.
Jaber watched them as they had wrapped the bodies of the fallen members, and after insistence from Khalid, the couple bodies of the Hashashins, and buried them before lining up to offer their prayers.
He never once saw someone pay respect to the dead before. The Hashashins cared very little for such things, either tossing the dead down the cliff or burning them after being done experimenting on their bodies.
Finding no means for escape, Jaber had crawled to the further corner of the cage and huddled on himself, watching them as they did their work, trying to busy his mind.
