What Were You Thinking

Zarqa had been lost in thoughts since she had confronted Marwa the previous day. There was a lot she had to grapple with, from Marwa's behavior, to how to outsmart her and get out of there.

She needed to prove her wrong.

As a result of all of that, along with looking after the injured Laila, the girl didn't get as much sleep as she needed. She hid a yawn behind her hand as she walked over to Raheal's hovel to bring her breakfast.

At the very least, she was still looking after her. It seemed it was the only thing that kept her under control for Marwa, and she wasn't going to disturb that.

The girl stopped before the door and searched for the key when her sleep-deprived mind picked on something strange.

It was quiet.

There was no soft singing coming from the other side.

Was Raheal still asleep?
