Zarqa jolted awake with a start. Her dreams plugged again with the vision of the flames.
She breathed deeply, trying to slow her racing heart. Her mind tried to recall everything she had seen. The fire, the crow, the howling, the song, the infant's cries, and the huge shadow in the background… No, it wasn't a shadow this time…
She looked up at the giant man sleeping by her side as realization dawned on her.
It was Iram.
The girl narrowed her eyes, holding her head as if it was going to split. What was that vision? Was it a warning? Was something bad about to happen? If so how to prevent it? What was all that about?
She didn't know.
She didn't have time to ponder on it.
She needed a plan, a way out for her and her friends. But there was a lot to be done and very little time to do it. She didn't even know where she needed to begin.
