49. A night of mares.

At first she had refused to try on any of the dresses that Lady Bretton brought to her room that night, but Neriah did not know that Lady Bretton was not a woman to be treated like any other of the maids.

Apart from being the head maid and personal maid of Her Majesty, Lady Bretton was actually Grand Duchess Bretton. She was the Grand duchess of the house of Bretton, a house that had been backing the royal family for centuries.

The woman was known for her strictness and no-nonsense style of teaching noble Ladies.

But fortunately for Neriah, she never had to learn from the woman as the queen had overseen her studies personally as she was their last daughter and was therefore treated like a babe.
