Silas's eyes shot open, his body jolting upright as he tried to push himself out of bed. Ajax and Donte sprang into action, moving swiftly to restrain him, their voices filled with concern.
"Silas, stop! You need to rest," Ajax urged, his hands gently but firmly pressing against Silas's shoulders.
But Silas fought against their grasp, his movements frantic and desperate. "I have to get out of here," he pleaded, his voice strained with panic. "I can't stay here!"
Ajax and Donte exchanged worried glances as they struggled to calm their friend, their hearts aching with empathy for his distress. Silas's cries echoed off the walls of the hospital room, a haunting symphony of fear and anguish.
"Silas, please," Donte said, his voice soft but firm as he tried to reason with him. "You're hurt. You need to stay here and rest."
But Silas shook his head, tears streaming down his cheeks as he clung to the edges of consciousness. "I can't," he sobbed, his voice choked with emotion. "I can't stay here. I have to get away."
Ajax's heart twisted with sympathy as he watched Silas's anguish unfold before him. He knew that his friend was battling demons far beyond their comprehension, and he wished desperately that he could ease his suffering.
"We're here for you, Silas," Ajax said gently, his voice a soothing balm against the storm raging within his friend's soul. "We won't leave you alone. I promise."
Slowly, reluctantly, Silas began to relent, his struggles gradually subsiding as exhaustion overtook him once more. Ajax and Donte settled him back onto the bed, their arms wrapped around him in a silent embrace of comfort and support.
As Silas's sobs quieted and his breathing steadied, Ajax and Donte remained by his side, their hearts heavy with the weight of their friend's pain.
