Although the news of Maeve's departure brought me great joy, I still maintained my indifferent expression. Maeve might be gone, but that didn't excuse what went down between her and Klaus. I was still mad about the entire situation, but I had promised to drop the cold attitude if Klaus sent her away.
We both sat in silence. While I tried to distract myself with a book, Klaus was finishing up some business with the guards. The proprietor of the arson situation had been caught, and Klaus was passing his sentence.
Damon stood a few inches away from Klaus, and occasionally he would stare towards my direction with inquisitive eyes. Since he was the one who took Maeve away from the castle, I figured he must be curious to know why I'd suggested she gets kicked out. Klaus probably didn't tell him, and I had no intention of saying anything to anybody. If possible, I wanted to forget about everything that went down that night.
