I stared at the piece of paper before me with trembling fingers, and a raging heart. I didn't want to believe it, none of it was true! It was probably forged, a desperate attempt to return to the castle.
"It's not true right..?" I asked, my voice low and barely a whisper. "She's just doing this so she can come back into our lives, you mustn't listen to her. It's all a lie!" I screamed out. Maeve was a petty and desperate lady, and this was something she could definitely do just so she could be called back to the castle. She knew I had seen Klaus and her together, and now she wanted to exploit that fact.
Klaus remained silent, or rather, he was unable to say a word. He was encompassed by the guilt of this being true, and I could feel his pain. He had been brave to show me the letter the very second he had received it, things could have been a lot worse had he tried to hide it.
