Aiden stared at me as though I had lost my mind, but I couldn't be more serious at the moment, and he could see that. I thought it might all be a crazy coincidence, but it couldn't be at this moment. I didn't know what it was, but we had a connection. It wasn't a mate bond, and I'd never been able to figure it out until now.
"Y..you're joking right..?" Aiden stammered as he stared into my luminous eyes. The happiness in them was palpable, and that was more than enough to suggest that I wasn't just making it up. He had reasons to not trust my words, and it was perfectly understandable.
He probably thought that I was a greedy stranger who was trying to run him dry by claiming to be his sister. He probably thought this was a plot in my grand scheme to extend my stay and finally steal his property. It was okay for him to have his doubts, and I wouldn't blame him if he loses his cool and tries to kick me out.
