Jiang Yanfei: "Don't I have any dignity or face to maintain?

The next day, due to his car still being repaired, Muge had to get up early.

He had planned to take a taxi to the company.

As he arrived at the entrance of his residential complex, it was the peak hour for commuting in Hangzhou. Muge lived in Sheng'aomingzuo, which was some distance away from the Ou Mei Financial Building.

Just as he was about to take out his phone to hail a ride, a Maserati stopped beside him.

The passenger window rolled down.

"Get in!"

Jiang Yanfei smiled at Muge and said.

Well, he didn't need to hail a taxi anymore. Muge got into the passenger seat.

As he was buckling up, he asked, "Why are you here?"

"To pick you up for work. I knew your car was being repaired and I was afraid you might not be able to get a taxi, so I came over!"

"You should have told me earlier. What if I had already left?"

At this moment, Jiang Yanfei turned her head to look at Muge and held up her wrist, revealing a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch.

"You've given me all your time, so of course, I won't miss you!"

Alright, although Muge was not particularly fond of such cheesy pick-up lines, he was still touched by her words.

"Oh, by the way, I brought breakfast for you. You can grab it and eat," Jiang Yanfei said as she drove.

Muge turned his head to see a heart-shaped lunch box and a bottle of pure milk.

He reached over, opened the lunch box, and inside were sandwiches.

"Did you make this yourself?" Muge asked curiously.

"Hmm, try it and see how it tastes. I'm not sure about your preferences, so I made it based on mine."

Instead of eating right away, Muge took advantage of a red light and leaned over to kiss Jiang Yanfei on the cheek.

"You're always touching and kissing me!" Jiang Yanfei complained with a smile.

"Hehe, I can't help myself!"

Then Muge dug into his food, unaware of the subtle smile that crept across Jiang Yanfei's lips.

...

After returning to the company, the two walked upstairs one after the other.

As usual, Muge bought two cans of Red Bull from the vending machine in the office. When he passed by his former department, he handed one to Wang Wei, a gesture of camaraderie between the two.

"Thanks, Mu!" Wang Wei grinned as he accepted the Red Bull.

"Mu~~~" A sickly sweet voice called out from afar.

Muge looked up to see Chen Li, who had just arrived for work.

"Do you want some Red Bull too?" he asked sarcastically.

"Can't you buy me one?" Chen Li pouted.

"Why don't I buy you some Wahaha instead? Learn some good stuff in the morning, will you?" Muge rolled his eyes.

Chen Li's face immediately darkened.

"Damn, Muge, you're such a perv. No wonder Jiang said you have a dirty mind. Look at the crap you say!" the stock department erupted in laughter.

"I can imagine what kind of stuff Mu likes to watch!" another colleague joked.

"Hahaha! Fuck, Yang, I'm drinking Red Bull here!" Wang Wei laughed and cursed playfully.

"Alright, you guys keep busy. I'm going back to my office," Muge said as he headed back to his office.

Sitting at his desk, he turned on his computer and lit a cigarette to help him focus. As a professional trader, he was always intense when it came to monitoring the markets, even with his newfound abilities, he didn't rely on them excessively.

Today, he planned to focus on a three-day stock in the equity market and keep an eye on crude oil in the futures market. Now that he was the vice president overseeing three departments, after checking the future market trends, Muge sent out different analyses that he had obtained through his future vision to each department.

Soon, morning turned into noon, and it was time for lunch.

Jiang Yanfei seemed to have some matters to attend to, so Muge decided not to disturb her and went to the cafeteria for lunch instead.

The company offers lunch, sourcing the food daily from a prestigious five-star hotel. The variety is immense, a testament to the company's generous benefits. Each year, a significant investment is poured into the canteen alone.

At lunchtime, Muge selected some of his favorite dishes and enjoyed them while chatting with Wang Wei. After the meal, he took a stroll around the office to aid his digestion.

As he passed Jiang Yanfei's office, the door swung open, revealing the risk control department's manager, Mr. Fang, exiting with a downcast expression.

"What's the matter?" inquired Muge.

Mr. Fang looked up, his lips pursed. "It's nothing, Mr. Muge. I just got scolded," he replied.

"I don't know what's gotten into Miss Jiang today. She's been in a foul mood, and I've borne the brunt of it twice already!" Mr. Fang lamented helplessly.

Muge shrugged. "Isn't that just how it is sometimes?"

Mr. Fang forced a smile. "The thing is, I didn't even do anything wrong. It was all over minor issues, but she just wouldn't let up," he explained innocently.

"I don't know what's wrong with her. She's usually not like this," he added.

Muge chuckled. "Maybe she's having a bad day. Women have those, you know."

"Or maybe she took something that didn't agree with her. Just give her some space for a while," he advised casually.

Just as Muge was about to resume his walk, the office door opened again, and Jiang Yanfei emerged, her expression stern. She hadn't been eavesdropping intentionally, but she'd happened to catch the tail end of the conversation between Mr. Fang and Muge.

And what she heard Muge saying about her set her off.

Jiang Yanfei was livid. How could he, her own boyfriend, not stand up for her in front of others? Instead, he was gossiping about her like this!

What did he mean by "having a bad day"? Or "taking something that didn't agree with her"?

Didn't he realize how much that hurt her?

Seeing Jiang Yanfei, Mr. Fang quickly excused himself and left, shooting Muge a sympathetic look as he went.

"Come in here!" Jiang Yanfei snapped at Muge, her glare so intense it could have killed him on the spot.

Muge touched his nose nervously and followed her into the office.

Once inside, Jiang Yanfei turned on him, her eyes flashing with anger. "How could you say those things about me in front of other people?" she demanded.

Muge held up his hands defensively. "Calm down, it's not worth getting upset over," he said soothingly.

"I only said those things to try and lighten the mood a bit. You were going off on Mr. Fang for no reason, and I was just trying to diffuse the situation," he explained.

Jiang Yanfei frowned but her anger seemed to subside slightly. "Well, you can't just go around saying whatever you want about me," she said firmly.

"I know, I know," Muge agreed. "It won't happen again, I promise."

Jiang Yanfei sighed and shook her head. "Fine, I'll let it slide this time. But just remember, what you say reflects on me too," she reminded him.

Muge nodded solemnly. "I understand. Thank you for being understanding," he said sincerely.

Jiang Yanfei rolled her eyes but couldn't help smiling slightly. "Don't thank me yet. How about we invite some of the department managers out to dinner tonight? You can come too and make it up to me," she suggested.

Muge brightened at the prospect of a night out with his colleagues and his girlfriend. "That sounds like a great idea!" he exclaimed.
