The remaining guards dragged the body of their fallen comrade and threw it into a small compartment at the back of the carriage. Leaving corpses in someone else's territory was unmistakably disrespectful, so they took him back with them.

Li Jun felt gazes pierce through every fiber of his body, and he turned to see Master Shen and the city lord staring with thoughtful expressions. 

"I'm sorry for causing trouble." Li Jun clasped his hands and offered a bow to the two of them. 

Each of them remained silent for a moment until Grandmaster Mao emerged from the mansion, holding an envelope in his hands.

"Don't apologize. I should thank you for getting rid of that little shit." He said with a hearty laugh as the others turned toward him with dissatisfied expressions.
