A Training Match.
"First we'll split you into teams to scrimmage against each other for a 12 minute quarter and after will be free time to focus on individual skills you want to improve with the other coaches after today will be intense as we prepare for the Lion Campus as they have been known for having a strong defence"
As Coach gave this order he organised the teams.
Team 1: Raine(PG), Maximo(PF), Kendrick(SG), lackey 1 (C) and 2 (SF).
Team 2: Nile (PG), Silver (SF), Pine(C), lackey 3 (SG) and 4 (PF).
As the players went to tip off No1 and Pine stood next to each other and the difference was clear between the two players. Then coach Joe threw the ball which Pine won easily causing Team 1 to retreat as Team 2 pushed forward with Nile controlling the ball as he approached Raine he slowed down before driving fast to the right which Raine followed with his hand up to stop and inside passes but to his suprise Nile shot fading towards the baseline which went in.
When Nile made the shot he looked at Raine with a smug smile which Raine caught be decided to ignore as he asked for the ball which Maximo gave to him.
Raine then drove the ball down to the other side of the court before being pressed at the half court line by Nile.
Then Maximo came forward and set a screen which lead to Nile falling to the ground after colliding with Max allowing Raine to drive at the rim but as he got closer he passed the ball back out side as the defence had collapsed leaving Kendrick free on the wing which like the killer he is in one motion sent the ball up before the defender could even jump and it flew like a guided missle into the net.
The game progressed with more than 2/3rds of the game played with Team 2 having Silver taking over.
The match up with lackey 2 made it easy for Silver as the overall ability of Silver was better which causedw him to score 12 points and grabbing 2 rebounds and 3 assists going 6/7 in the field
Whilst Maximo also had it easy with lackey 4 as he easily blew by him getting to the rim, but with Pine playing well he created a no fly zone leaving Max to only score 6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists
The 4 shots missed being blocked by Pine who had 8 points, 4 rebounds and 4 blocks
But the best player in the match was Kendrick who scored 15 points,
1 rebound and 1 assist all points hitting from behind the arc however due to his lack of defensive ability he was used in the pick and roll with Raine to open the defense up.
Raine played well having 4 points but having 5 assists and 3 rebounds
Whilst lackeys 1/2 having 2 points and 2 rebounds to their names and lackeys(3/4) having 2 rebounds and 2 assists each
Nile also had 4 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds after having the hot start he missed 4 more shots before Silver took over and started to score himself
28:24 leaving Team 1 in the lead with 2 minutes left on the clock Nile drove the ball to the half court and call for a pick
Silver came forward and set a screen that Raine fought over this lead to both lackey 2 and Raine following Nile leading to an open pass to Silver who was the. covered by Maximo leaving lackey 4 open in the corner.
Silver then passed the ball to him causing Kendrick to switch to block the shot of lackey 4 leaving lackey 3 open.
Lackey 3 then receives the ball from the corner to which he puts up a three pointer at the shot clock buzzer which after hitting the back of the rim twice it fell in.

With 1:30 left Raine drove the ball before quickly handing it to Maximo who after collecting the ball jumped from a step inside the paint to slam the ball down over Pine who attempted to stop him.

As Maximo landed again he put his hand to the ground as he taunted Pine who looked angry and asked for the ball constantly as he made his way to the paint of Team 1.
Nile ignored his call because he wanted to level the score with a 3 pointer and apply pressure to Team 1 as he dribbled he decided to shoot which hit the rim and landed in Pine's hands which he then jumped dunked with 2 hand ferociously, landing a d looking around like an apex predator looking for more prey.

With around 45 seconds left Raine play a quick shot after driving into the paint which misses but Maximo jumps first allowing him to beat Pine to the ball as he tips it away towards Kendrick who shoots a long 2 from the top of the key which enters without even hitting the net.

The rebounded shot left the time with 24 seconds meaning the attack of team 2 would be the last Nile anxiously brought the ball up the court leaving 16 seconds handing the ball quickly to Silver.
Silver then sized up Lackey 2 and began to drive but stopping quickly and stepping back behind the 3 point line with 2.3 second left he shot the ball like in slo-motion the ball moved through the air and then hit the backboard before falling straight into the net as the Buzzer sounded then ending the scrimmage.

Seeing a tie Raine and the other couldn't believe it thinking they would be playing an overtime they found out that coach Joe said that the draw was final and to move onto personal training.
As Raine sat down exausted by playing a full 12 minutes began have a drink as he did he looked at his stats and noticed

Seeing his stats he noticed that the defence had be boosted significantly during the game when he thought about it and he came to the conclusion that the defensive points may be how effective the defence was throughout the match and with the opposing players ability compared to his own stats and the defence the system responded.
[points for defensive overall ability can be given 0-100 points per match this match you were given 20 points due to limiting Nile to 4 points whist missing multiple shots due to good positioning but movement away from the ball in support defense and in the pick and roll reduced the points by a lot]
After drinking some water Raine began to practice his 2's and 3's shooting 300 2's and 300 3's making 50% of the 2's and 25% of his 3's bring his totals up to (177/1000) and (85/500).
By the end of the free time Raine felt that his arms may fall off as he entered the locker room to change after he did he went to the classroom of his study and found no one there so left to got to an outdoor court, as they were limited to 20 hours a week training in the stadium, seeing a beaten up hoop Raine opened his bag and sent Maximo a message that he was at the outdoor court and began to keep shooting as he did he noticed that his fitness was still lacking and thought about the Boxing lessons he wanted to take as he thought about where to go Maximo showed up so Raine asked
"Do you know any places that do good boxing lessons?"
Confused Maximo replied "yeah a distant uncle runs one a few blocks from our houses we could check it out why?"
"I feel I need to toughen up both physically, mentally and to be able to fight back if needed" Raine replied.
Honestly he was still worried about what happened to him in the other world and that it could happen here so to prepare he had to be equipped with other knowledge to fight back if needed.
