Lion Campus Vs Toronto Uni

Pine and the opposing center lined up as the referee threw the ball up for tipoff with Pine winning the ball was pushed forward by Raine who slowly dribbled towards the top of key before the PG of the other team could get there taking advantage Raine shot but missed hitting the rim.

After a few rounds the score was still 0-0 with both teams having a hard time scoring with both sides defending well.

The next possession Raine moved the ball quickly hoping to escape the other PG who was stuck like glue not allowing any space but as Raine went to crossover the ball was poked away allowing for a fast break for Lion Campuses PG who lays the ball comfortably 0-2.

The game continued in a similar till half way through first quarter of the match with score at 10-12, the game was slow methodical with praiseworthy defence from both teams as they struggled to get good chances Maximo however was beginning to shine as his physical presence allowed him to tear apart whoever was in front of him scoring 8 points and collecting 4 rebounds in the quarter alone with Pine who had 2 points and 5 rebounds Sliver and Kendrick showed a lack of feeling in the first five missing 3 shots each but had 2 assists each Raine on their other hand has a blank score sheet with his redeeming performance being in defence as he was tenacious restricting the PG to 4 points and 1 assist but it seemed that Lion campus having a compact defensive line up has restricted Toronto Uni and this continued to the end of the quarter with the score ending 21-25.

"Raine" Coach Joe said looking at him "your out for the next quarter"

like a shock of lightning Raine tensed up and clenched his fist he was unwilling but he had played poorly not even scoring in open play with a stat line of 1 point,1 assist and 1 rebound and 3 turnovers.

Nile was placed with the main line up for the next half of the quarter but it seemed that the score wouldn't change leaving Toronto always 4 points behind the lead was leveled when the main players on both teams where rested for the last 3 minutes of the half with Nile leading a bench team of lackeys ending the half 40-40 at the half.

In the Locker room Raine sat there silently as did the rest of the team most breathing very heavily the game took a lot out of them the constant running switching and intensity felt like they where playing in the championship knock out rounds already 2 games into the season.

Joe entered the room to see all players exhausted and thought about how to inspire the team

"I know your tired but the Game is still level and your opponents are in the same boat the intensity is not ordinary for a season game so give it your all"

the small statement made by Joe allowed for the players to calm down and relax but also aroused a fighting spirit in the team.

With this the team was lead out back to the court with the starting line ups back into the court the game started with Toronto's ball.

Raine determined to play well became very proactive diving at the PG before crossing between the legs driving right forcing the PG to the right before going behind the back before going back to the left seeing the open space left he looked to see Maximo cutting back door so Raine threw the ball up with Maximo catching it with ease before slamming it down with authority that left the people in the stands stunned at the dunk showed by Maximo.

On the way back to defend Maximo high fived Raine before defending his man the game continued till the fifth minute with Toronto leading the Lions 58-50 with Maximo scoring 18 so far and Pine having 12 and Silver and Kendrick having 6 points each aswell as Nile who had 4 points Raine having 1 point still annoyed Raine but he had 5 assists and 6 rebounds with every rebound finding him rather than rebound the ball well

The Coach called for a timeout and subbed the whole bench in Nile and the Lackeys played well be ended the half 65-62 allowing the Lions to catch up leaving a 3 point lead.

On the bench Coach Joe decided to leave Raine for the start of the 4th leaving Nile with the starting line up.

The 4th started like the last 3 with tough defense but unlike the previous quarters Lion started to look more offensive with them becoming hotter and hotter pulling a 12 - 0 run creating a 9 point lead not even 2 minutes into the quarter this lead was held for another minute causing the coach to call a time out with this he called for a play to get an open shot.

Coach Joe looked at Raine and said "you'll be on to start the play" Raine then looked at the coach determined to do well. The timeout ended and the ball was unbounded to Raine.

Raine with the ball in his hand began to dribble he looked left to see the screen being set by Pine and drove that way as he did the PG tried to get over the screen but was slowed causing the Center to step forward to contest leaving space behind for the roll of Pine the PF of the Lions noticed this and began to move away from Maximo to the paint Raine seeing this waited a second taking more pressure before passing to Maximo as the PF had moved too far to get back this was however quickly covered by the SG who had been on the wing. Maximo didn't panic as if that was part of the play and passed to Kendrick with a cold glint in his eyes like a snake that had been it waiting it struck, the ball was released and flew in a delicate arc before being cushioned by the net 68-74 bring the lead back to 6 points.

Raine thought that this would be the spark to start the fire but it was snuffed out by the Lions who had found an offensive rhythm and made matching buckets to all shots made by Toronto uni leaving the score at the final buzzer 76-81 Lions winning at home

Even though disappointed Raine shook hands with the opposing players before heading to the changing room with his teammates as they got a shower, dressed and leave.

On the bus Raine had a sleeping Maximo on his shoulder 'it seems that the game was even intense for a physical demon like him' he thought as he also began to fall asleep but as he was a screen flashed.

[Performance: Lost: 1 point, 6 assists, 7 rebounds, 0 steals, 0 blocks.

Seeing this he found that the system had provided him with a sheet of his performance and a defensive rating that were then added to his stats

Seeing his stats and the progress he's made in the week he's been here he was proud but when he thought of the rating compared to the pros he realised there was a long way to go, and as he thought this he began to drift into a dream a dream in which he was holding a trophy that looked similar to the Larry O'brian but a dream is a dream and was awoken by Coach Joe who told Raine that they where back at the Toronto uni campus.
