Darkseid and Justinian

After he returned back to DC, Justinian completed setting up the World Tree Energy Net to connect every planet in his Empire. He also enhanced his abillities further by fusing two Philosopher's Stones into his duel hearts.

As time passed, he began to feel the effect as the Elixer Of Immortality that flowed into his bloodstream continued to rejuvenate his body, spirit, and soul. His new bloodline seemed to grow more potent and fierce as time went on.

The pressure of containing the souls and laws of two Primordial Dragons was a heavy burden that constantly tempered his being. The Laws of Domination and Supremacy flowed through him constantly adapting and maximizing his power.

While his own power improved, he also improved the gear of his Honor Guard and wives further. With his enhanced reality-warping power, he created an alloy made of Vibranium, Uru, Nth Metal, and Adamantium, which was weaker than his own Necrodermis, but still stronger than anything he had made before.

The small amount of Necrodermis fused with new alloy improved the quality of their gear further. This enhanced their weapons, armor, and skeletons to a level worthy of standing as his companions. His blessing and the biomantic enhancement he made to all 50 of them, made them a terrifying force.

To finish off the enhancement he had them all submerge themselves fully in the Elixer of Immortality produced by the 4th Stone. The Elixer was liquified Soul Energy of 25 Trillion Souls and his Aether.

Each one of his 50 Guards, as a result, absorbed the Elixer into their tissues, and selves which nurtured their bodies, souls, bloodlines and as a result their new gear. While Justinian, his companions, and his family grew stronger, someone else plotted against him.

In Apocalypse, Darkseid sat on his throne thinking of his current nemesis and annoyance. Justinian, a new player had humiliated him and stolen power from him for himself. Even more infuriating was that his uncle and son had been killed permanently.

He had killed them countless times and resurrected them when he saw fit, but he had not been able to do so. They had been useful and at times, he felt something in his heart that he dismissed for Kalibak's death. Grief? He was above such things, but he could not help but remember his first wife, Suli. She was the only person he ever truly loved, she could calm him when no one else could.

His hag of a Mother had Dessad poison her because she had been making him weak. After that, his heart closed itself off never to be opened again, but now that his last connection to Suli was gone, old feelings resurfaced.

He clenched his fist around his armrest in rage at these feelings. His guards, the Furies noticed this, but they all avoided looking at him. Ever since the war declaration, Darkseid had been beyond temperamental.

They walked on eggshells around him as several Apokalyptians had been destroyed by Darkseid for catching his eye during this time. Dessad who noticed this bowed at the side of Darkseid before he asked a question.

"Sire, shall I bring you some wine to enjoy? Some food."

Darkseid turned his attention to this sniveling worm. Dessad had served since the days of Yuga Kahn, then Hegra when his Father was trapped in the Source Wall. Under Hegra's orders, Dessad poisoned Suli, but when Darkseid came to power he poisoned Hegra under Darkseid's orders as revenge.

If Yuga Kahn ever returned, Dessad would instantly turncoat as he only cared about himself. The only reason Darseid kept him around was because he was useful, but that didn't mean he liked it.

"I have no desire of such things instead report on the production of the new Parademons."

"My liege, the new Parademon breed has been a success. They are stronger, more resilient, and more aggressive than the old breeds. More than a match for a Kryptonian especially in numbers."

Darkseid wasn't satisfied as The Imperium fielded massive powerful armies. Justinian and his guards would be able to slaughter thousands of his new Parademons with ease, but that brought another problem.

He looked up at the Furies, his own personal Honor Guard, but they felt inadequate when compared to Justinian's Honor Guard. Such a thought was ludicrous, but he had to accept it.

He would need to heavily increase recruitment meant into the Furies, increase their training, and subject them to more enhancements. For now, he turned to Dessad.

"Get me Granny Goodness immediately, and also increase production of the Paradooms. I need more of them, to ramp up production. I need a vast army of them. As much as I loathe to admit it, the Imperium of Justinian is powerful. I need to know more of what he truly is capable of."

As Darkseid said this, above Apokolips a boom tube opened which was noticed by the defense systems of the planet. Inside Darkseid's Throne Room, hundreds of alerts reported this as many weapons locked on the portal.

From the portal emerged Sigismund, in his new resplendent armor. He looked down at the planet of Apokolyps before he blasted down toward the palace of Darkseid. While he was taking a risk, he was not afraid.

At any moment, Justinian could appear at his side through the blessing that bound him to each of his Companions. In a burst of dark fire, he smashed through the defenses of Apokolyps as he descended toward the palace of Darkseid.

As he approached the palace, he slashed his way inside cutting through the material and the defenses placed on it. Darkseid sat on his throne with a furious expression on his face as he heard Sigismund tearing his way toward him.

Dessad began to tremble, but he stopped as he looked toward his master.

"SIRE! The Intruder is coming this way."

Darkseid stood up from his throne as the massive doors to his Throne room were slashed open. Inside walked in the reborn Sigismund who stood at an impressive 18 feet. His black Power Armor shimmered with power as he walked into the throne room.

"Darkseid, I am Sigismund, Champion of my Emperor and I have come as a messenger for him. The God Emperor Justinian Arcadius Valoris Valdor has extended an invitation to you. You are to meet him on the same planet you met on. Where you gave your declaration of War."

As Sigismund stood his ground, Darkseid clenched his fists. If Justinian thought that his Champion would live after humiliating him like this, he had another thing coming.

"You dare descend on my planet, my palace, and make demands of me. You will beg me for death worm."

Darkseid stomped forward as he intended to murder Sigismund for this transgression. It would also be revenge for Kalibak's death as he would take his rage out on all of Justinian's Companions.

Sigismund watched it all from behind his helmet and seeing this he decided to move. He drew his sword from its sheath as he had not used it this entire time. No, thanks to his blessing he had learned something for himself.

When he drew his sword, the blade shimmered with barely contained power. The blessing on his back and his belief in Justinian caused the Laws of Domination and Supremacy to flow into him through his faith.

The two Laws affected his body, his mind, and most importantly his sword. Through this process, even if temporary it was like he gained access to the Concept of Swords. His understanding of the sword, how to use it, and most importantly how to push more power out of his blade.

Darkseid sensed something was wrong as his instincts told him Sigismund wasn't normal. Dessad drew a button from his robes as he ordered the new Paradooms and more Parademons to enter to fight off Sigismund.

As for the Furies they were supposed to be here to protect Darkseid, but there was nothing they could do. Not against someone like Sigismund who would require Darkseid himself to fight.

Darkseid's Avatar lunged forward with the Omega Effect surging through his Avatar. Sigismund who had not moved, moved forward and in an impressive display of Martial Skill swung his blade over 10,000 times in a single moment.

Darkseid could barely register what happened as his Avatar was slashed through a thousand times. Darkseid grit his teeth as his Avatar fell apart in ten thousand cubed pieces falling in an explosion of blood and organs.

Sigismund stepped back before he swung his blade removing the blood from it. He waited patiently as the remains of the Avatar burst apart into pure Omega Effect. Almost instantly, a new Avatar replaced the destroyed one, but Darkseid felt humiliated.

Sigismund, one of Justinian's guards had defeated him effortlessly. Even if it was only an Avatar, he could not stand for this. As for Sigismund, he placed his sword back in its sheath.

"My Lord will be waiting."

With that Nyandra, the Former Mother Box used her connection to the Source to open a Boom Tube for Sigismund. He stepped through the portal returning to the Prime Universe back to the Imperial Palace.

When Sigismund was gone, Darkseid took a deep breath. He could feel his anger, humiliation, and resentment rise.

"JUSTINIAN!"

---

Back in the Prime Universe, Justinian sat down surrounded by his Honor Guard, Ddraig, Albion, and Leginstrasse. He was sitting down on a throne made of regular stone. His wives stood around him talking among themselves and with him.

The talking stopped when Sigismund stepped through the Boom Tube. Everyone got quiet as Justinian stood up and walked toward his champion.

"Sigismund, I watched everything that happened. I am impressed with you. You took down an Avatar of Darkseid with ease. As expected of one of my Honor Guard."

Sigismund bowed low before he stood back up.

"It was nothing. An Avatar is still just an Avatar, unless you can kill him for good he will keep reforming."

Justinian knew that, but he had a better chance now than before.

"Regardless, you did well. Now, I just got to wait for him to come here."

As he said that he turned around and he sat himself down on his temporary throne. Remnosh in her new set of Power Armor reached down and placed her hand on his shoulder.

"You sure he will show?"

Soundwave responded from Justinian's helmet.

Nyandra responded in agreement.

"He is coming."

Just as she said this, a large Boom Tube opened up, and out from it walked a hoard of Paradooms. Seeing these creatures meant that Darkseid had acquired the genetic material of a Doomsday from another Earth.

After hundreds of these monsters emerged from the portal, Darkseid came out with even more Paradooms. He looked pissed and when he looked at Justinian he barely held himself back from attacking.

Seeing him made Justinian stand up as he walked forward. He rested his spear on his shoulder as he approached.

"Darkseid, I see you got my message. Let's talk shall we."

Darkseid grit his teeth, but he relented. He stepped forward until he and Justinian were less than 10 feet apart. Of course, Justinian had his Honor Guard and his predakons around him while Darkseid had his Paradooms.

After a few tense moments, Justinian waved his hand and created a table. Two thrones appeared on either side of the table one for him and one for Darkseid. Justinian sat himself down on one with Darkseid sitting on the other.

Justinian set his spear on the table as he looked at Darkseid.

"Let us make something clear, you and me will never be able to live in the same multiverse. As long as one of us lives, the other will never rest. I will kill you, take your power, and do away with everything you stand on.

Before that happens though, I thought why not talk to you before you die? One Conqueror God, to another, why not test your intellect against mine?"

Darkseid squinted his eyes as he calmed his rage ever so slightly.

"What do you have in mind, Justinian?"

Justinian waved his hand and from the table, a holographic display appeared. Justinian was going to play a game of Regicide with Darkseid.

"This is Regecide, a war game played as training in the 41st Millenium. Let's test your knowledge in war is as good as your reputation says it is."
