CHAPTER 211

- HAZEL -

I hear the thud of solid shoe soles echo in my ears. This makes my brows crease.

Even a sound so faint makes its way to my ears and actually bleeds the heck out of it.

I let out a breath through my mouth. For some reason, it feels as though my mouth is in some sort of confinement because I can feel my own breathing.

“Please, whoever it is, stop walking. My ears suffer because of it.” I manage to murmur. I know I’m tired. From the feel of it, I’m laying on a bed. My hand reaches for the sheets, squeezing into the mattress.

A not so comfortable one. Where the heck am I?

My eyes slid wipe open and I stare at the ceiling. I raise my hand to touch my face. Yes, my nose and mouth is constricted by some sort of plastic mask. And now that I’m awake, my senses are more aware to other noises in my environment.

The continuous beep being one of them. I sit up straight. The first thing I do is gaze at my body. I’m in hospital garments. I scoff.
