She grew up with her mother from day one. And in her twenty-one years, she had lived in three different places. She grew up in a town where she was born as Arvin and finally moved after changing genders at age twelve.
For a fresh start, they moved to a low-tier city where they settled with her mother, working all sorts of part-time jobs so that she could go to school.
Fortunately, she finally found a job at a mini-market where she found her love and finally got married starting a second family.
Thankfully, her stepfather and his family didn’t discriminate against her just because she was not theirs. They looked after her well, though it wasn’t on par with her half-brother who was only five years old.
In order to be independent and get out of everyone’s hair since she didn’t want her mother to be put in a tight spot if something like that ever arose, she moved to Cranla, a top-tier city, literally on par with the capital city for her college studies.
Since she was a student, it was going to be hard to find a job that would pay well and give her the freedom to study as much as she wanted.
She was on tenterhooks back then and even worked in a club for a few weeks. And it was then that Gemma found her and gave her a new lease on life.
Gemma’s family has a fashion brand and is one of the rich families in Cranla, though not in the top twenty, however, they fare pretty well among the competition.
When they first met, Gemma was stressed about finding a model for a new line of clothes that the company had just made. The one they had talked to suddenly went back on her promise, throwing everything into chaos.
At that time, and just like any other time, Braelyn was wearing baggy clothes and glasses. Since she didn’t trust human nature and what they would do to her once they saw how she looked like without all that, she learnt the art of disguise.
Unfortunately, that disguise didn’t work properly for Gemma, who had very sharp eyes. It was her fortune that night to have piqued Gemma’s interest as the next day; she signed her first endorsement and entered the modeling industry.
For nearly four years now, Braelyn, also known as Arya in the industry, had modeled several times and every single time, she had earned a lot. And the money was enough to take care of herself.
Although she didn’t concentrate fully on the modeling aspect of her life, her life had been moving very smoothly and it was all thanks to the friend who found her when she was in need.
So, seeing how worried she was because of that scumbag, all sadness was washed away.
[I am doing pretty okay. Let’s meet tomorrow. I am at the hotel.]
Braelyn sent the message before moving to other people. She didn’t think that Gemma would respond, as the other loved her sleep a lot.
After browsing her phone for an hour or so, Braelyn started feeling hungry, so she left the bedroom and managed to find a lounge, dining room and a mini kitchen.
When she saw all that, she couldn’t help but gasp, wondering how much money she would be required to pay when she checked out tomorrow.
Even if her savior wanted to save her, couldn’t he or she have found at least a cheaper room and not an expensive one like that?
Unfortunately, there was no need for her to cry. In fact, it was already too late. Since her service had been used, she might as well make use of it.
So, she made her way to the fridge, where she found some drinks and a container of ice cream and, in the kitchen cupboards, she found some snacks as well.
She picked everything she could and took it all to the lounge where she switched on the TV and began to fill her empty stomach with a relieved smile.
As for troubles for tomorrow, she was going to face them once the time arrived. But for the moment, she was going to spoil herself, and spoil herself she did.
……..
Several hours later, Braelyn yawned as she opened her eyes groggily, looking around like she did when she woke up in the middle of the night.
‘How long had I slept?’ she wondered as her eyes darted to the clock on the wall.
[08:55]
The clock read, forcing Braelyn to jump out of bed in panic.
“Damn! Am I late?” she asked herself in panic as she started moving around, her mind a bit blank.
She didn’t know what time she was expected to check out, but seeing the time, if it was nine in the morning, did she even have time to check out that fast?
Would she be forced to pay for two days?
Braelyn felt like things weren’t going well for her at all.
After some thought, she took a few deep breaths before she swaggered to the kitchen.
Since she was late, she might as well just take things slow and enjoy herself.
When she arrived, she froze as she spotted a pot emitting a nice fragrance on top of the island.
Upon seeing it, Braelyn raised her foot as she hurriedly made her way to where the pot was.
Besides the pot was a sticky note with a beautiful handwriting she had ever seen in her life.
[When you wake up, eat your porridge and take your medication. I will drop by lunch to pick you up. Don’t overthink too much and just recuperate. R.R]
“Who the heck is R.R.?” she asked out loud, confusion written all over her face.
“Whatever. Let me eat and follow the doctor’s advice. Since the person will be coming later, I might as well just wait for him or her and see!” she decided as she placed back the note on the table.
With her mind made up, Braelyn returned to the bedroom, where she skipped to the bathroom and took a nice, long, warm shower.
