The upgrade

"Yes." Without hesitation, Atlanta accepted the once in a lifetime offer. She wasn't ever going to decline that offer, as it was a double win-win for her. She would be training with the resistance elite squad members, while also receiving battle lessons from each members of the big five. Not to mention she would kill the hunters that killed her parents, while also getting the one who ordered the hit.

"Very well. You're free to go now. Oh! and you aren't required to do anything for today, your priority is to rest and recover your energy."

"Of course." Bowing her head slightly, Atlanta's mind went to the sudden strange system interface that abruptly popped up, when she fought kobal.

Turning round, she then proceeded out from the big five office as the door automatically shut.

"Are you sure we can trust her?" Gin asked softly, staring at zero who had a light smile on his face.

"Of course. I can feel that great things are going to come forth from now on." He chuckled a bit, tapping his fingers to the hand of the hovering chair.

"Need I remind you what happened the last that you had a gut feeling about someone." Faiya frowned. She wasn't open at all to people, just casually to some members of the big five.

"And need I remind you not to judge a book by it's cover." Zero uttered staring out the window. "And besides, we should help her in any way we can. she might be the key that finally unlocks the door to humanity freedom."

"I still don't trust her." Saber grumbled. He didn't like Atlanta at all, so his trust for her was 1 on a scale from 1-100.

"Let's give her a chance first, and see how it goes." Zero calmly spoke with a calm expression.

...

For a long time humanity hasn't found a source to put their hope on, the resistance were trying but their efforts were little. But now an emerging Phoenix would finally bring peace and hope, and they would finally able to put their trust in the one and only daughter of the Richard gene.

"Where did I come from?" It had been a while since she'd last been to the resistance HQ, so she was struggling a bit trying to navigate her way around. Taking a left, she stumbled upon the health department as she could see various resistance fighters injured badly.

'It's always the hospitals.' It wasn't a strange occurrence as it was a usual thing in the resistance, the health department was the sector that received multiple amounts of people.

With lack of battle suits some resilient one's were left unprotected, so damage occurrence was imminent. Many resistance fighters both young and old, had lost their life for the cause of the greater good.

They had a belief for a better future, and they would fight for it even if it means till their last breath.

Shaking her head, Atlanta then left the health sector as there was nothing else to see there. she then stumbled at another sector, precisely the food sector.

'Yummy..' she then went and ordered some food, from the food dispensing machine by the side. Walking to a round table with about five hovering chairs, she sat on one by the left munching down on her lunch.

"Is this seat taken?" She heard a male voice behind her, turning she could see a brown skinned boy about her age with black hair. He wore an overall white lab coat and a pair of glasses, a badge showing he was in the health sector pinned on his chest.

"Err.. no." She casually said not minding at all. She was a bit weary of people she just met, trying to avoid them as much as possible but it didn't matter anymore.

"Thanks." He said taking a seat beside her, dropping the metal tray to the table. He then put his hands together, bending his head to his hand mumbling some words.

"What are you doing?" He wasn't bothering her with what he was doing, but she felt a bit intrigued to know what he was doing.

"Am praying to the creator."

"The creator?" She asked awkwardly.

"Yes. he's the force that created everything and everyone, then bestowed his wisdom into us." He sincerely spoke, his eyes full of believe and faith in this so called creator.

"Look I don't mean to burst your bubble, but there's no such thing as a creator and we being the created." The boy gasped a bit in shock, looking at Atlanta with wide eyes.

"I know you don't believe it and you may think am crazy, but I believe and I won't stop doing so."

"Good luck then.." this was the first time, she saw someone who truly believed in such an incredible force.

She'd only been born a few years ago, so she didn't go to school like back in the old days. Though she easily accessed the past years data because of the mind-blowing technology operating now, as humanity decided to record the database of the past, present, and future years.

'If there was such a thing like a god, then where was it before my parents died.' She'd read about multiple religions, putting their faith and belief in an unknown presence worshipping it with their all.

They all believed this presence performed otherworldly miracles, like raising the dead, healing the sick, and so on. They each had different names they called this presence like God, Allah, budah, and so on, but the general name the presence was termed is the creator.

"Am Rhoin..." he abruptly said, jolting Atlanta from her thoughts. glancing at him a bit, she could see he was still staring at her for a response.

"Cool..." she indifferently stuttered continuing her food, Rhoin wasn't set back by her cold shoulder towards him. With a smile on his face, he was persistent enough to purge further.

"What's your's?"

"Sighs... did anyone ever tell you your annoying?"

"Yeah.. most of the times, but I tend to take that as a compliment."

'Crazy..'

"I understand if you don't feel secure telling me your name, I'll just have to build my trust then." He chuckled nervously, garning a weird side glance from Atlanta.

"But I believe we're really a family, afterall we're fighting for the same things." He softly said. She'd been hearing the word family recently, and she didn't know how to feel. she lost her family when she was a kid and she never got to say goodbye, or see their dead bodies for the last time. Ever since then, the only thing that filled her mind was anger, bitterness, hate, and revenge, that's why she joined the resistance.

Sole was the only true friend she ever had and felt attuned to tell her secrets, but now he was fighting for his life and she was once again alone.

"My name's Atlanta." She softly said, not feeling the need to cage herself anymore. after all, what harm could possibly come by saying her name to a perky nerdy boy.

"Atlanta.. wait, like the Atlanta?" Rhoin excitedly said, staring at her with wide eyes. She didn't know why he'd suddenly gotten excited when she said her name, but she didn't think much about it.

"I don't think there's any other Atlanta so yeah.."

"Holy shit! Am so honored to be in your presence. P-please tell me all about it."

"Is there something I don't know?" She asked confused, she didn't know what he was saying as she'd just stared expressionless.

"You don't know? Everyone's talking about you."

"Me?"

"Yes! everyone in the resistance knows you defeated a lv4 hunter, and you weren't even equipped with battle suit or weapons!" Rhoin overexcited pitched a bit in his tone, calming himself down a bit his hands were still visibly shaking.

"See for yourself." He Pointed and that's when she could see it, the people in the cafeteria were staring at her from time to time. She could even see them murmuring some words to each other, weirdly gazing at her.

'This was unexpected.' She knew it would be sooner or later before the people in the resistance new what she did, but she didn't expect news to travel this fast.

"I don't care.. I did what I had to."

"B-but no one, would be crazy enough to dare think of taking on a lv4 hunter. But you did without a battle suit and a weapon!" Standing up she'd had heard enough, she avoided attention and fame all her life so she just wasn't used to this.

"I would." walking away, she heard Rhoin yelling her to wait but she wasn't in the mood. there were other important matters, she had to sort out first.

Avoiding all the people that tried to make contact with her, she then went to a secluded place only she and sole knew. The room was dark, but surprisingly it looked like she had night vision eyes cause she could see in the dark.

'How do I get it to show.' She didn't remember, how she made the holographic screen appear before her view last time.

'Maybe I should just say status?' she pondered. That was the best option she could come up with. Since it was a system and she was the primary user, she had access to command it through her speech.

"Status.." she muttered, and without hesitation a screen abruptly popped up in her view.

'It's just like a system interface.' Looking at the holographic screen in front, she saw all the same things she'd seen earlier. Reading through her stats, she understood some of them but not all.

'Shouldn't I have a system guide or something., She thought, and like a wish come true a voice suddenly spoke.

[Welcome host.]

[W-what who's there.] Startled, she looked around the room for any signs of a trespasser but she couldn't find any. Sitting back down, that's when she could Finally see the holographic screen had changed.

[Welcome host.] The robotic male voice spoke again, and this time she was certain for sure it was her system speaking.

'Hi..'

[What would host like me to do for her today?] He said, trying to add a bit of emotion to his tone but failed horribly.

'Err.. wait! this isn't like those systems, that only allows the users to ask a certain amount of questions per day right?' She knew of some system interface, that only allowed the required user access to it by answering a few questions per day. It was stressful and annoying, but it was best and widely used for security purposes.

[If course not. Host can ask infinite questions, as much as she desires and I'll be glad to answer the few I can.]

'That sounds fair.. am I still human?' She'd wanted to know if she was still human, as her body didn't feel the same as before. It wasn't that it was a burden to her, no! the nanites were very much helpful, but it felt like parts of her human life were slowly fading away.

[Partially. Host is now an upgraded version of the most deadly assassin's, called the battle angels created by the creator.]
