A new life

Xue Qin starts her new life in a small town. The company is at the heart of the center. She spend her weekend hiking on a trail to watch nature and animals. She make friends who are painters. She sometimes join them on a paint trip in the nature walk. Whenever the end of the year comes, Nan Qin will fly over to join her for Christmas and new year. She never contact Mei Qin nor Mei Qin every try to call her. However she hear from Nan Qin that Mei Qin have moved back to the mansion. Daniel and her are living apart.

"Don't you want to go home?"

"No."

"I think you are having a too much of a good time here."

"No. Not really. I have to crack my head on the business aspect. Try to get more new clients."

"Your garden is dying."

Xue Qin sits up and stare at him. He laughs 

"Be serious. Isn't anyone ..."

"Yes the butler is doing his job. Watering them daily. However they look lifeless. Dead. Pale. No fragrances."

Xue Qin lean back down on her couch.

"Mei Qin have been acting strange lately."

"What did she do?"

"She is copying how you behave. Mother is asking her to stop it."

Xue Qin keeps quiet.and pretend to read her book.

"She is now having the same hairstyle as you have and dye it black.Strange that now she is married, she seems like... not married at all." 

"Well she's an adult. She should know what she is doing."

"Yeah, she's an adult. She knows what she is doing... but she is not understanding what she is getting into. "

"You are her brother, blood brother. Shouldn't you..."

"She is not going to listen to me, you know what. I once told her, she need not marry if she doesn't want to. However she insist she wants this marriage to happen. Well it happen but is she happy?"

Xue Qin keep silence. Mei Qin have make her choice. So did everyone. There is no one to blame but themselves. 

Xue Qin continue her daily after Nan Qin leaves. She is engross in her work and become happier. However the happiness is short when Daniel appear in front of her once again. On a hiking trip with her friends, Xue Qin find him among the people she comes to know. He is an acquaintance of someone's friend. Without a choice she go ahead to hike without talking to him. Daniel quietly follow her behind. She is constantly surrounded by people who talks a lot. He did not find a chance to talk to her. Till that evening, the group disband after dinner. She walk quietly to her car.

"Can we talk?"

He stand in front of her car and stare at her. Xue Qin refused to look at him and walk around him. He grab her and hug her tight.

"Please talk. You can scold me. You can beat me."

Xue Qin push him aside and walk to open her car door. He open the back of the car door and sit in it. Without a choice, she start the car engine and drive off. Reaching her house, she walk in and slam the door. After two hours she takes a peak from her window. She see that he is still in her car. In her mind, she is thinking if she should call his wife. However what can she do? Calling her also makes things complicated. Thus she left him be for the night. Thinking that he will leave when he is hungry. However in the morning, she finds a sleepy and hungry man staring at her. She sigh and start the car engine. Today she is going to do some painting. So she drives up to a valley with a nice spot. She throw him a sandwich when she reach the spot. He eat it hungrily while looking at her fixing her stand and paints. Once she starts to paint, he step out of the car, Stretch and exercise. He stand beside her and she ignore him. 

"I know you are angry. I already try to annul the marriage. Your aunt is making a fuss about it. My mother..."

"Then you should remain in that marriage."

"But the one i like, is always you."

"Like, want and need is always different." 

"Can you..."

"No. Whatever you want to say, no."

For awhile they remain in silence. He loiter around her and finally get into her car. 

That evening, he left. Xue Qin sit alone in her house. Without turning the lights, she wondering what she is doing. Why is she in this mess? She should be asking back for the property of her parents. She stay up the whole night and think about it. She call her uncle and talk about it over the phone. He agree that she should return and be introduce as the Chairwoman of the company. 

Three days later, Xue Qin call her. She ignore the calls. She knows what her female cousin will say. It is better they say it face to face. She receive a call on her uncles's number. She pick up the call and find that it is her aunt. The lady is hysterical on the call. She wants the jewellery that is kept in the safe and now it is only autrozied by Xue Qin only. She tell her aunt to wear whatever she have on hand. Besides that Xue Qin had stop her to use the company card to make big purchase. Thus she is not happy. Her husband does not have the rights to cancel the block thus she make the call to Xue Qin. She try to be polite to her aunt but she snap when the elder lady yell at her for ungrateful in raising her up so well. Xie Qin hang up the call and switch off the phone. 

It's time to go home and face the music.
