FIIVRRMMS

Fully Immersive and Intelligent Virtually Reimagined Reality in a Massively Multiplayer System, or in short FIIVRRMMS. A system believed to have originated from the deities themselves before being integrated with the technological advancements of the modern world where a human mind is booted into an emulated reality. This system was common in every educational center, military stronghold, training facility and governmental facilities. Mostly because their own purpose was to train a person in an open space on how to fend themselves against the anomalies that threatened their daily lives.

The system was complex internally yet simple to use, a person would merely have to enter a pod-like machine which would then sync their mind into a global network of virtual servers. It was a system that could also help a person elevate themselves into higher ranks easily. But it was a system that Liu Chen held little interest in.

Liu Chen had always been one to have faith in physical gains. The hardships he went through to personally mold his power was something the users of this new system would never manage to understand. Anyone who prioritized physical gains instantly had an advantage over a person who gained through the emulated reality. A person who would rank at D yet gained it through physical means would easily be considered a C rank in comparison to an original C rank individual who gained through the emulated world.

Thats exactly why he resented the idea of him and his half-sister dueling within the emulated world. It was only after being pushed further by his father that he finally accepted the new terms of the duel.

"Your pod is ready, young master." Lullaby, Liu Chen's personal maid, commented. Instantly snapping him back to reality that he'd disappeared from as he stared at the pod before him.

Every aspect of its appearance showed obvious technological advancements. It was shaped like a bullet that had been slightly chiseled at its top or rather, a plane's cockpit with a larger and less divided panel of glass which slid open with a hiss as he approached it.

"User registered...Liu Chen."

"Please step in to boot into the emulated reality"

An automated female voice commented from the device's internal speakers, following up with Liu Chen's golden interface opening up with the same words printed out which he simply ignored.

"Tell father not to boot my out even if he sees it necessary, I'm sure he has his finger ready on some button as we speak." Liu Chen mumbled out, stepping into his pod and taking a seat on its fine leather interior.

"He mentioned that you would say that." Lullaby responded before showing a slight smile as she pressed on a button, causing the glass to hiss itself to a close, "Your father assures you that you'll duel without unnecessary interruptions."

The news was relieving to him. The main reason why he even was booting into the system was because of his father, he was worried that his son would have picked a fight that he couldn't win. As such, it wouldn't be a surprise to him if he suddenly decided to boot him out of the system before the duel even ended.

"All systems online."

"Awaiting vocal command from current user." The automated voice worded again, causing Liu Chen to let out a short breath before closing his eyes and reclining on the seat.

"System synchronize!" Liu Chen blurted out.

A slight rumble erupted from the pod before an instant effect took over his body. He felt lighter, thoughtless and drowsy. It was slightly nauseating but tolerable to some degree since it only lasted for a shorter time than he'd expected. The next time his eyes opened, he was facing the cloudy sky through the spaces that the trees had opened up with his interface staring back at him.

"Synchronization complete"

"Duel settings confirmed."

"Opponent: Liu Xiaohui"

"The blessing of the deity Meiying, caution is advised when dealing with a blessed individual."

The blessing of a deity. The news came as a slight surprise to Liu Chen but the more he pieced things together, the less it surprised him. It was no wonder she was considered the family's powerhouse after her own father, anyone blessed by a deity would immediately get a massive boost in every aspect. It was like a cheat system, one that Liu Chen had at first wished to get.

"Giving up that fast?" Liu Xiaohui mumbled out, a distance away from where Liu Chen lay.

"Let's get this over with already." Liu Chen responded, springing to his feet and taking in a short breath as he locked gazes with his opponent.

The blessing was what contributed to half of her reputation; Liu Chen now knew this, but he also acknowledged her own capabilities. It went without saying that Liu Xiaohui was remarkable in combat situations, the only reason she was the most likely to become an elite within the family was because of this. But in her current state, she wouldn't pose a threat to him in any way. In fact, she was merely a test to see whether his personal improvements were truly as good as he'd thought they were.

"You've grown cocky." Liu Xiaohui commented, drawing out her iconic blade from thin air before swinging it to her side.

"I'm not surprised you know what someone cocky looks like." Liu Chen responded, drawing out his blade too.

"Both parties ready."

"Commencing duel, damage shall begin registering once the timer ends." The words had appeared on both their interfaces with a timer holding 3 seconds beside it.

Liu Chen simply let out a sigh before drawing a smile on his face as he swiped away his interface that blocked his view of his opponent. The match would be a swift show for anyone watching, but its results would prove to be worth his time. As such, he simply enjoyed the moment that would mark the beginning of his remastered life.
