Chapter 25: Arrangements

For a moment, just thinking about Jyahnar made Liam feel uneasy. He immediately asked the system,

"System, can we delay Janna's arrival, or is there any way to restrain her?"

He placed all his hopes on the system. To be honest, Liam did like Jyahnar quite a bit—after all, who wouldn't like a beautiful 2D wife? However, his liking her didn't mean Teyvat would. If Janna came over without any restraints, all the forces of Teyvat—whether heavenly principles or the Abyss—would be nothing in comparison. Teyvat would practically be halfway buried in the ground.

[Ding! Rest assured, Master. Jyahnar will descend as your companion Honkai beast. Though her power will become stronger, she will be under your control!]

The system replied in a calm tone.

"So you're saying that even if Jyahnar fully descends into Teyvat, she still has to obey me, right?"

[Exactly!]

The system confirmed.

Hearing this, Liam breathed a sigh of relief. As long as she had to listen to him, it was manageable. He was genuinely afraid Jyahnar might destroy Teyvat in a fit of bad temper. She wouldn't even need to do anything else—just lie down on the Teyvat continent and roll over a couple of times, and most of the inhabitants would be wiped out.

Given this, I accept the mission!

"Liam! Liam! What are you thinking about?"

Raiden Ei looked at the suddenly absent-minded Liam and waved her hand in front of his face.

Hearing Raiden Ei's voice, Liam snapped back to reality and smiled awkwardly at her.

"Sorry, something came up and I got distracted for a moment."

Liam apologized straightforwardly.

"What were you thinking about? My sister and I have been calling you and you didn't respond at all!"

Raiden Ei looked at Liam with curiosity, and even Raiden Makoto was interested, wanting to know what made Liam suddenly space out.

"Uh... it's nothing much. I just received news that one of my companions might come to Teyvat to find me soon."

Liam didn't hide the truth. Who knows if Jyahnar would descend in her full form? If she did, her enormous manta ray body would be visible across all of Teyvat. If she came in her humanoid form, he would still need to introduce her to Raiden Makoto and Raiden Ei.

"Your companion? You have a companion?"

Raiden Ei was puzzled. Although she knew Liam had untapped powerful abilities, he didn't seem like the type to have "companions."

"If you can have companions, why can't I?"

Liam retorted, giving Raiden Ei a side glance.

"Haha! Ei is always like this!"

Raiden Makoto chuckled, then looked at Liam.

"What is your companion like? When will she arrive?"

"Her name is Jyahnar, a giant manta ray, and my companion Honkai beast. Every Herrscher basically has one. I'm not sure when she'll arrive; it should be a while. Oh, and by the way, she's really big, so don't be surprised when you see her!"

Liam briefly introduced Janna to give them a heads-up.

"Got it!"

Raiden Ei didn't think much of it. Big? How big could she be? She had seen gods that could shake mountains and seas, and she thought Liam was underestimating her. However, those gods were nothing compared to Jyahnar, who was as big as a planet.

On the other hand, Raiden Makoto seemed thoughtful after hearing Liam. If Liam emphasized her size, his companion must be something extraordinary. But since Liam shared this, it meant his companion should be trustworthy.

Then Liam turned to Raiden Makoto,

"If Yae Miko comes looking for you, have her send someone to the Kanjou Commission to check for incriminating documents about the Hiiragi family. Also, consider appointing a new head for the Tenryou Commission. I think Kujou Sara would be a good choice."

In terms of loyalty, Kujou Sara was beyond question, and her abilities were outstanding. She was just a bit too straightforward and serious, but she had a good heart.

"Sara? She is indeed a rare talent!"

Raiden Makoto, though she hadn't been back long, had already interacted with Kujou Sara and had a good impression of her. She could see Sara was truly loyal, and as a general, her capabilities were more than adequate.

"Sara can definitely be entrusted with significant responsibilities!"

Raiden Ei also spoke up. She had interacted with Kujou Sara the most and was in the best position to speak about her. It was hard to imagine that the tumultuous Kujou family could produce someone as loyal and upright as Kujou Sara.

Seeing her sister's agreement, Raiden Makoto nodded, approving Raiden Ei's words.

"Alright, then, you can handle those matters as you see fit. Like Ei, I'm not good at management. I'm just reminding you! I'll be off now!"

"Wait, Liam, with Kujou Takayuki and the other Tenryou Commission members colluding with the Fatui arrested, do we need to end the Vision Hunt Decree?"

Raiden Makoto called out to Liam as he was about to leave.

"No, keep the Sakoku Decree and the Vision Hunt Decree in place for now. There are still matters to address!"

Liam shook his head. The system's task was to resolve Inazuma's internal and external troubles. The external troubles referred to the Fatui, which was straightforward enough. However, the internal issues were numerous—Raiden Shogun, Raiden Ei, the Tenryou Commission, the Kanjou Commission, and Watatsumi Island were all internal troubles. Having a deity of the nation turn into a problem was something unique to Inazuma.

Even after dealing with the Tenryou Commission, there was still the Kanjou Commission and Watatsumi Island. The Kanjou Commission was easy—find the evidence, and they could be taken down. But Watatsumi Island was trickier.

Back then, for some reason, Ei allowed Watatsumi Island to be incorporated into Inazuma's territory but still let them worship the Great Serpent. Now, it seemed the people of Watatsumi Island were starting to stir. If they formally established that ridiculous resistance army and caused trouble, Liam would take the Shogun to Watatsumi Island. He wanted to see if those rebels could be as bold in front of Raiden Shogun as they were in the storyline.

I'll see how those rebels jump around then.

Raiden Makoto seemed to understand Liam's thoughts and smiled, nodding.

"Alright, we'll do as you say!"

...

Technically, Liam's fight with Scaramouche was his first real battle, but surprisingly, he didn't feel panicked at all. However, since it was his first time, he was somewhat nervous. So after dealing with everything, Liam, feeling a bit fatigued, fell asleep right away, and the quality of his sleep was excellent.

The next morning, thanks to the good night's sleep, Liam felt completely refreshed when he woke up.

"Ah—! It's true that a good rest makes you feel incredibly relaxed! I have a good feeling about today! System, time to check in!"

Liam grinned foolishly and spoke to the system.

[Ding! Check-in successful! Congratulations, Master! You have received: Imaginary Points: 160, Item: Endless Flask! The item has been placed in your system backpack]

"???"

"What the heck?"

Liam rubbed his eyes, looking at the new item on the system panel. Realizing he wasn't mistaken, he was speechless.

"Hey, System, why do you have stuff from another set? Aren't you the Tree Sea System?"

[Don't underestimate me, Master! Even though I'm called the Tree Sea System and primarily handle items from the Honkai side, I also have items from other worlds. Moreover, they've been enhanced by the system, so they are stronger than before!]

The system quickly explained.

"Looks like I underestimated you, System!"

Hearing the system's explanation, Liam understood. He had judged too quickly. He then opened the detailed description of the [Endless Flask].

[Endless Flask: With this, you'll never run out of drinks. Law of conservation of energy? What's that?]

[This flask has been enhanced by the system. Although it's called a flask, it can hold and endlessly produce anything, like bitter melon juice. Just pour a glass into the gourd, and it will produce an endless supply. Wave this around, and you might even tame a certain elder loli! But don't get too ridiculous! Like with certain milky substances!]

[By the way, the flask has a recording function. Any drink produced will be recorded and can be reproduced at any time! Wondering how it works? Don't ask! Just know that Honkai can do anything!]

Liam: "..."

Reading the system's increasingly lively descriptions, Liam found himself unable to even think of a retort. It seemed he had grown accustomed to the bizarre. Maybe he would only find it strange if the system ever described something normally! Was he being led astray by the system?

Despite his many thoughts, Liam still took out the [Endless Flask]. It was a not-too-large, silver gourd with a poorly written "Liam" character on it.

Liam: "..."

Wow, System, you're really meticulous. The gourd looks just like the one from another set, but with the character changed to "Liam"!

Despite the many points of critique, Liam couldn't deny that the flask was impressive. If it could only hold wine, he might have left it to gather dust in the warehouse. But with its ability to endlessly produce any substance, it became a treasure to him.

"System, does this flask only have wine in it now?"

Liam shook the empty gourd in his hand and asked the system.

[Ding! Knowing that Master doesn't like alcohol, the initial beverages include: fine wine, pure water, cola, fresh milk, milk tea, and various fruit juices!]

[Friendly reminder: This flask also has temperature control!]

"System you..."

Liam felt a wave of gratitude for the thoughtful system. It was enough to make him tear up!

With a thought, black liquid began to rise from the gourd. Liam was overjoyed and quickly took a sip.

"Ah—! It's been so long since I've had cola!"

Feeling the familiar taste, Liam stood frozen for a moment. Suddenly, he remembered the system mentioned the flask could control temperature. With another thought, wisps of white steam rose from the gourd.

Liam took a big gulp from the gourd.

"Ah—! So refreshing! Haha! Cola is best served ice-cold!"

Liam's smile widened, his joy evident as he enjoyed the chilled cola. His elation was even more noticeable than if he had obtained a Herrscher Core.

Liam happily rubbed the gourd in his hand and hung it at his waist. Now, with the gourd on his right and the Judgment of Shamash on his left, coupled with his ancient attire, he looked more like a wandering swordsman—albeit one with a gourd of iced cola!

He then sat on the bed and browsed the system's shop for drinks. The shop was vast, with all kinds of peculiar items. Last time, he only took a quick look.

Liam opened the beverages section.

[Mei's Juice: Despite the odd name, it's just fruit juice made by a certain cooking genius!]

[Fresh Bitter Melon Juice: Freshly squeezed from bitter melons. Honestly, why does anyone like this drink?]

[Clear Tea: Brewed by a certain flat immortal from China. Bitter yet sweet, a single sip can bring enlightenment!]

[Love Forgetting Water: Looks like plain boiled water, but one sip can make you forget your beloved! Use with caution! Seriously, does anyone drink this stuff like water?]

[Sage's Water: As the name suggests, drinking this gives you six hours of sage-like serenity! During this time, you'll be free of desires. Even Buddha would give up his seat for you!]

[Body-Tempering Milk: Tastes like fresh milk but enhances physical fitness over time!]

[Yin-Yang Reversal Water: Clear and slightly sweet, this will forcibly change your biological gender for three days!]

...

A long list of bizarre drinks appeared before Liam. The system indeed had many strange items! Especially that [Yin-Yang Reversal Water], which was downright terrifying! Liam even found an upgraded version.

[Yin-Yang Reversal Milk: White and slightly sweet like milk. Drinking it permanently changes your biological gender. After a month, drinking it again can revert the change!]

Honestly, Liam was tempted to buy such an intriguing item, but decided against it for now. He then selected a few normal drinks with some auxiliary functions, spending 320 imaginary points on them.
