By My Hands

"We were beginning to get along again," Dahlia spoke up after a while, her voice still hoarse as she refused to let go of Draco's body. "He helped me escape that place and I couldn't do anything to save him."

"It wasn't your fault." Azriel could feel his heart breaking as he saw Dahlia in such a state. He had first-hand experience with what death does to a person and he would hate to see her go down the same path he did.

"I could have prevented it... I could have stopped Tobias if only I got over my fears." she cried harder as the image of Tobias stabbing Draco replayed in her mind. Dahlia blamed herself the most in that situation because, with all the powers she had, she chose not to use it and that burden would live with her forever.

"We all have our fears... don't blame yourself for having one."

"My brother is dead because of those fears and you expect me not to blame myself? I could have prevented it... but I didn't."
