The King stood there as the once-happy couple looked at each other, one dressed in gold and riches while the other had been demoted to the lowest depths of humanity, grasping onto the only hope she had left, her daughter Juli.
'I am disappointed in you, love, for you have disgraced me in front of the kingdom of Britannia. You were my pride, and now you have become my shame,' the Queen looked at the King helplessly. 'But I didn't cheat on you, my love. I swear to the heavens, my King, I didn't. This is your child; please don't leave us here to suffer.'
The King frowned, looking at his Queen in disgust as the love for her diminished by the second. 'Well, I won't be deciding your fate; the new Queen shall decide.' A tall lady with siren eyes, long silver hair, and a face so harmonic that it could shift worlds, smiled at the formal queen. 'Come on, Elara,' the King gestured for her to speak her wish. 'My King, please let her stay in the palace. Even if she is a cheating, lying slut, let her stay in the palace with her child at least, but not as a Queen. She shall be called by her first name, Mary, and will be taken into the palace as a housemaid to feed those who reside in the palace,' the King smiled as Elara held his face, and that's when Mary knew that her downfall had just begun.
After Elara and the King were done sharing their affection, the King addressed the guards. 'By noon tomorrow, bring her and the child to my room. Until then, treat her like a criminal.' And like that, the King turned his back on Mary and Juli, leaving them with only themselves. Mary saw that her child was cold and dirty; she tore part of her delivery robe and used it to wrap her baby Juli while holding her to her chest. 'Juli, I'm sorry for bringing you into the world to suffer like this, but I'll make sure not to leave your side. COUGH COUGH.' Mary looked at her hand and noticed patches of blood; she was coughing patches of blood, she was sick. She looked up at the damp ceiling and screamed her life out. 'WHY, GOD, WHY DO YOU WANT TO TAKE ME AWAY FROM THE ONLY THING I HAVE LEFT?' And after she let her pain out in a scream, she slept with her back to make sure her baby could sleep well on her tummy, not caring how uncomfortable it is, all this while waiting for the change in fate by noon."
