Soup

Qinghe thought that this was the first time that Chief Palace Attendant Fang had shown her skills, and she had to make a big impression. Surely, she would have to use precious ingredients and extra steps to create the soup to show off her skills.

However, to her surprise, the soup was made quickly and without any particularly rare ingredients. It was just a simple soup with noodles and a few bean sprouts, without any oiliness, and it didn't even smell like a typical broth made with chicken or meat. It seemed like just a plain white-water soup with noodles.

Qinghe wondered how anyone could enjoy such a simple dish. She couldn't forget the sumptuous breakfast they had earlier with the crystal-clear radish rolls. However, as Chief Palace Attendant Fang was the one making the dish, Qinghe felt it necessary to show some respect and take a few bites, even if she couldn't eat much.

"Have some soup first," Chief Palace Attendant Fang handed the spoon to Xie Ning.
