A Chemist's Interstellar Saga

After the meeting ended, the admirals of the five legions hurriedly left the conference room to start preparing for what was to come. Quillan, in particular, was eager to leave and took a team of top researchers from the Alliance Military Research Institute to the Fifth Legion on Hecaris.

Overnight, the Fifth Legion's base gained a heavily guarded research facility. There were guards every 25 meters and sentries every 100. Even their own people needed to give blood samples and undergo genetic testing to enter or leave the secure research institute.
