Chapter 22: Everything Went Completely Black

*Ellie*

A chill ran down my spine.

Whipping around, I caught Professor Bennett striding into the cafeteria with Professor Lewis. He didn’t seem to notice me, however, his demeanor screamed agitation.

For no reason at all, I thought the temperature in the cafeteria seemed to have plunged a few degrees, and I shuddered. What was Professor Bennett’s issue? What made him so upset?

I rarely saw any emotions on his face, and it was even more rare that his anger was so obvious. Since my last visit to his office, we barely spoke to each other. I knew I had been avoiding him, and for some reason, he’d started to do the same.

After a brief hesitation, I picked up my tray and told Aiden, “I’ll catch up with you later.”

Before I knew it, my legs had carried me to Professor Bennett. He was by himself because Professor Lewis went into another line to order food.
