No Debts Owed

As Naomi Sweeney spoke, tears rolled down her face like broken beads. "Because of me, we've ended up in this situation. Even if she were to hit me or make me kneel, I would be willing as long as I can be back by Joe's side. I'm willing to do anything."

Seeing the crystal tears hanging on her haggard face, Joe Louise's heart clenched.

He quickly embraced Naomi and gently wiped away the tears from her face. "It's not your fault. Why are you saying all these things?"

Mrs. Louise, observing the scene of the two leaning on each other, couldn't help but smile.

She quietly left the room, and Yvonne Louise, quite crestfallen, rushed in hastily.

"Mom!" When Yvonne saw her mother, it was as if she had caught a lifeline. She plunged into her mother's embrace. "You have to make it right for me!"

"What happened?!" Mrs. Louise's face changed abruptly when she saw Yvonne's swollen cheeks. She held her face tenderly, her voice turning cold as she asked, "Who dared to lay such heavy hands on you?"

Yvonne omitted the part she mocked Cynthia and gave a detailed account of how Cynthia had hit her. "Mom, not only did she hit me, but she also tried to kill me! We were on the fifteenth floor! She dragged me to the balcony. If there weren't onlookers, you wouldn't see me here now."

"Why did you provoke her in the first place?" Joe admonished with a hint of reprimand in his words.

Thinking of Cynthia's previously indifferent attitude, his face turned cold.

"Brother, I'm your own sister!" Yvonne argued with a pout, her eyes red with grievances. "I'm the one who got hit, the one who was almost thrown off the building. How can you take her side?"

Joe snorted impatiently. "Why didn't she hit me instead of you?"

"Mom, listen to what Joe is saying!" Yvonne stomped her foot in anger, holding onto Mrs. Louise's arm like a spoiled child. "I don't care; she must apologize to me!"

She had to get back at her for that slap. Otherwise, she couldn't swallow this anger!

Mrs. Louise caressed her daughter's swollen face with affection, her eyes gradually showing a hint of coldness as her disdain for Cynthia intensified.

She had never liked Cynthia from the beginning, looking down on her background and couldn't stand her ambiguous and arrogant demeanor.

She had thought that after leaving the Louise Family, Cynthia would learn to behave and become obedient. But unexpectedly, she had become even worse, directly slapping Yvonne. It was as if she didn't care about the Louise Family at all!

"Let's go! I want to see who gave her the courage to lay hands on you!" Mrs. Louise held Yvonne's hand and, with an imposing manner, headed towards Cynthia's hospital room.

Lily Jonas received a phone call and left, leaving only Cynthia in the hospital room.

Suddenly, a loud noise came from the door, catching Cynthia's attention.

She turned her head and saw Mrs. Louise and Yvonne Louise standing at the door.

Her eyes narrowed, a touch of coldness appearing on her pretty face as she coldly said, "You're not welcome here. Please leave!"

"Cynthia Shannon, who allows to speak to me like this!" Mrs. Louise, with her Hermès bag slung over her arm, arrogantly walked into Cynthia's hospital room. She looked Cynthia up and down with intense disgust and asked, "Did you hit Yvonne?!"
