Schadenfreude

“No rush, there's still time,” said Old Mr. Louise calmly.

With a satisfied smile playing at the corner of her lips, Yvonne Louise raised her wine glass and raised an eyebrow at Cynthia, who was sitting across from her.

In previous years, Cynthia had never attended the Old Mr. Louise's birthday banquet.

But this year, she had prepared a gift.

Yvonne took a glance at the gift Cynthia had sent.

The packaging of the box looked ordinary, indicating that it wasn't something valuable.

Cynthia noticed her gaze but remained composed, simply lifting her water glass and taking a sip.

After the dinner, Yvonne instructed the servants to bring out all the gifts, which amounted to dozens of items.

Relatives at the table unwrapped each carefully selected gift, presenting them to the old master as if offering tributes.

It was well-known that Old Mr. Louise had a fondness for antique calligraphy and paintings, so the majority of the gifts catered to his taste.
