He Isn't Worthy

Cynthia Shannon's expression remained indifferent. “I have no time and no interest to listen.”

As she turned to leave, Joe Louise firmly grasped her wrist.

“Cynthia, I understand that our separation caused you great pain. I promised to make amends as best as I could. Why won't you give me a chance?”

“Why should I give you the chance? Why should I pretend as if nothing happened?”

Cynthia lifted her gaze, and her icy eyes bore into Joe's like a sharp icicle formed in a world of snow and ice.

With a sarcastic smile playing on her lips, she said, “I've said it before—there will never be reconciliation between us.”

Looking at Cynthia's cold demeanor, Joe tightened his grip on her hand and clenched his teeth. His voice carried a chill as he asked, “So, are you determined to cut ties with me completely?”
