A Drastic Change in Cynthia Shannon's Expression

Beneath the cover of night, Cynthia walked homeward, steadfastly resisting the urge to call Tristan on her own accord.

She opened her computer and perused the email sent by Jacob.

With slender, graceful fingers, she navigated through the text, taking in a wealth of information at a glance.

At that moment, a video call from Jacob interrupted her concentration.

“I told you from the beginning that this type of man couldn't be trusted, but you remained unconvinced! Now, the evidence is right in front of you. You must acknowledge it,” he asserted.

“People sometimes misjudge,” Cynthia replied calmly, supporting her chin with a solitary hand as she continued to peruse.

Observing her composed demeanor, Jacob couldn't help but inquire, “Really, you're not even a bit upset?”

Cynthia raised her gaze, meeting Jacob's image on the screen.

After a brief pause, she responded lightly, “Perhaps I never had as deep of feelings for him as I thought.”
