Overwhelming Momentum

Another gift?

Cynthia furrowed her brows; how was she not aware of this? In a short while, the butler walked in carrying a red box.

"Cynthia, what is this?" Aunt Wendy Patwin looked at the box the butler brought in, appearing to be a jewelry box in terms of its size and appearance.

Cynthia pursed her lips, unsure how to answer. Just as she hesitated, Max, who had arrived late, spoke up, "This is a sapphire necklace Miss Shannon sent you. It was completed around 1960 and perfectly complements the sapphire she acquired for you at the Forseby auction."

No woman could resist jewelry, and even the sophisticated Wendy Patwin couldn't hide her joy. "Is this the sapphire set that appeared at the Geneva auction?"

Max Ginger replied with composure, "Indeed."

If Cynthia was initially puzzled by this unexpected gift, seeing Max Ginger now made everything clear. "Cynthia, you child, how much money must this have cost?" Wendy Patwin lovingly looked at the jewelry in the box.
