Naomi's palms were sweaty with nervousness. Lisa resembled an ant on a hot plate, restless.

Through the crowd, Lisa signaled Naomi with her eyes, intending to leave quietly.

"Miss Drew, I advise you not to act recklessly before the police arrive!" Cynthia's cold voice echoed from behind, "To avoid unnecessary suspicion. You might not be able to clear your name even if you jump into the Yellow River by then."

Lisa froze in place at Cynthia's words. Biting her lip, panic filled her eyes.

Cynthia noticed Lisa's expression, and a sarcastic smile played on her lips. "Miss Drew, why are you sweating so much?"

"I—I..." Lisa Drew's nervous brain went blank. She stammered, "It's a bit stuffy here, and I just wanted to step out for some fresh air."

As soon as she spoke, footsteps approached from the end of the corridor. Everyone turned to see two uniformed police officers coming their way.

Upon spotting the police, Lisa's knees inexplicably weakened, nearly causing her to fall.
